Does anyone else hate life

There's so much involved in living. I would give anything for a nice long sleep.

I had great plans all week but no I'm not getting anything done. I had one hour sleep on Monday night, four hours sleep last night, spent all day in work today followed by five hours in a&e today. No catching up on sleep. Back up at the crack of dawn again tomorrow.

No, can't say I do. I actually love getting up in the morning, doesn't matter if it's cold or too early or whatever. You're doing something, meeting people, it's good. Lazing around in bed is sh*t and depressing!

Ah sorry to hear that. Wishing you a good nice quality sleep. I hope tomorrow brings a brighter day for you. Today is done. Close your eyes and leave it behind.

No one on boards has friends - hence the animosity towards Facebook

Go turn your router off and stick it in a drawer for a few days. It will help.

Ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it.
So that means that every single day that you see me, that’s on the worst day of my life.

    Hey OP,
Sounds like you had a rough day yesterday. Were you the one needing A&E attention or someone else? Hope you're alright.

It's alright to hate life sometimes, lots of people do at some point. it's always exasperated by tiredness. Everything always seems 100 times worse to me if I haven't had enough sleep.

    Hopefully today is better :)

No. I like life, it's the only thing I know. Occasionally it sucks eggs but it's mostly pretty good. I'm one of those high-and-tight-at-0600 types who likes Mondays and can be amazingly productive and terrifyingly lazy depending on the phase of the moon, and they're both fun. Get busy livin', or get busy dyin', boy.

Choose Life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a f@cking big television, choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol, and dental insurance. Choose fixed interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisurewear and matching luggage. Choose a three-piece suite on hire purchase in a range of f@cking fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who the f@ck you are on a Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that coach watching mind-numbing, spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing f@cking junk in your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pishing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, f@cked up brats you spawned to replace yourself.

    Choose your future.
    Choose life.

Raptor, love, if you were living with someone who forces you to get as little sleep as you give yourself, it would be domestic abuse. If you were a crying toddler, upset and depressed because you were tired, someone would take pity on your little head and put you down for a nap. Treat yourself with more kindness and you'll feel better. (I, too, had to learn to get enough sleep as an adult!)

I think I hated life at one point alright. Not consistently at the level of suicide or anything like that - where I consistently thought of actively ending my life - but I remember many many nights where I went to sleep hoping never to wake up.

You read in fiction about people who just "give up" and lie down and just die. And I remember many nights where I tried to will that to happen. I lay down to sleep and just tried to give up. To will myself to just not wake up again - ever.

One day I just woke up and decided to turn it all around. And I did.

Any details just out of curiosity? What were the plans? What stopped them? Why did you not sleep much on those other nights? Why A+E?

Life will be over before you know it and death is for a long time. So do things in life that makes you happy, but while doing the things you love make sure they don't cause others to be unhappy.
You need to look for opportunities in life, and then be not afraid to take those opportunities.
Hating life simply means what you are doing at present is not what you should be doing, as it is making you unhappy.

I've been diagnosed with just about every mental health illness going.

And I'm currently in the process of being diagnosed with a few personality disorders, to go with that.

My life couldn't be much ****ter - I've lost my career, some of my family, some of my friends, most things that are important. My self-respect, my dignity. And lets not talk about my financial situation.

And yet I can't bring myself to hate life.

Life could get worse, of course it could. But there's always the potential for it to get better.

If my life wasn't there, the potential for ME getting better and LIFE getting better wouldn't be there any more. There'd just be nothingness.

Crapness can always improve. Nothingness can't. I don't even hate my current life, because there is hope there. There is always hope, and that's what always keeps me going.

I think my counsellors and psychiastrists and doctors are often surprised I'm not suicidal. But I'm not. What would be the point? Maybe it's because I'm atheist. I don't believe anything exists after I die. I'll just be gone. For now, my life might (on paper) be crap, but there is no reason it can't improve and get better. The only way to remove that potential is to end my life. So I'm not going to do that.

The fact that you seem to have such an understanding and positive outlook tells me you are not as bad off as you think - or maybe others telling you this ?

    Anyway, great attitude and outlook.

I would be happy enough to die tomorrow, a true Christian embraces death.

Lady is a tramp, your point about you not being suicidal because you are an atheist doesn't make sense to me as it would be a Christian who would not be suicidal as it is against the religion.

It's a load of balls and the days seen to be getting shorter the old you get.

I wouldn't mind living in Downton Abbey. Those folk seemed to have all the time in the world. Breakfast served, pheasant shooting in the mid-morning, lunch and tea, a stroll in the country for the after noon, a good read before dinner and then Brandy and Cigars in the study before bed.

Nowadays it's commuting, breakfast on the go, 1 hour for lunch and then feeling sorry for yourself before you commute home for a microwaved dinner. By that time you have to be in bed.

A little pouch of lavender in your pillow case is a great way to ease sleeping problems

Failing that, light a lavender candle in your room about 20/30 minutes before you go to sleep
