On a David Brown Cropmaster in North Kerry (Gunsboro) in 1955 at a very young age but not as dangerous as might appear as these tractors had a bench seat with room for two.

When I was 14 in a big empty parking lot in Spain on my hols. Then did a few bits on private property back in Ireland, actually got a lesson off Rosemary Smith (rally driver) at fairyhouse for my 15th birthday, that was great craic!

When I was 17 and had my provisional I did the Sandyford industrial estate on a Sunday morning thing, but it was a hell of a lot quieter then, you might only meet one or two other cars (usually also learners) cos it was actually still an industrial estate then. Since the place is mostly apartments now, I don't think it's a great place to learn anymore. Maybe the likes of Carrickmines retail park at the arse crack of dawn would be good for driving around to get the hang of stopping and starting and parking. You'd have to stop before the shops opened though.
