Hard to believe that a Manchester City v Leicester game in February 2016 has title implications for both teams, but there you go.

A win for Manchester City would put them back on top by virtue of goal difference, while a win for Leicester would send them 6 points clear.

Hopefully it'll be a good game.

Leicester will be delighted to get out of there with a draw. They went through a bit of a slump but they seem to have caught a second wind and hopefully they ask questions of this City side who remain suspect out of possession.

If Leicester won this it would be some statement. Can see a draw though. Should be a good game.

City to win pretty comfortably, 3-1 perhaps

I would love Leicester to win the league so hoping for a Foxes. However, difficult to see past Aguero.

    3-1 City

Is Kompany back for City? Their defence is a hell of a lot better when he's there.

Hoping Leicester can get something out of this. Even a draw would be fantastic.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

It's unfortunate but I think the stars will align and City will smash them.

Jesus there is no escaping Robbie Savage on BT

Hopefully he isn't in the commentary box

Im hoping Leicester can get the win today,it would be massive, but I just think Man City will be too strong for them of course that depends on which Man City show up.

    Should be a cracker.

    Very average bench from City.

In England for sure, the top teams though can play and defend effectively.

Loads of empty seats again, strange to see in a top of the table clash.

( or it some kind of fans protest?)

    City can't deal with Mahrez.

The game is officially sold out. If some fans can't be bothered turning up, there's not a lot the club can do about it.

I mean the really great sides in Europe can attack and defend effectively, this City side are pretty darn mediocre out of possession and this game is just the latest example of that.

Leicester are lethal on the break

But City are one of the top European teams...

Everything Mahrez tries seems to come off, that was a great first time ball to Vardy

If you think City are already up there with Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, even Atletico or PSG or Juventus then more power to you mate.

Lots of talk about empty seats. Is there not a staged protest happening in some stadiums today over ticket prices or something?

This game is fascinating. Great to watch.

Supposedly very heavy traffic is the reason for the empty seats here.

So what you're saying is that there are only three top teams in Europe? Considering City finished above Juve in their group I think they're more than able to hold their own with that standard of team...and seeing as Juve finished runners up in Europe last year surely they're a top team too. City are undoubtedly in that region.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 15,721 Mod ✭✭✭✭dfx-

you could have 100 video replays (and 5 minute delay with a video ref) of the 'penalty' incident and you couldn't tell. Right decision so

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,725 ✭✭✭✭blueser

We're having a good amount of possession. But Leicester look more likely to score than we do. Very tight on that penalty shout, but no great surprise we didn't get it, going on previous decisions this season.

If you can only name maybe 6 teams in Europe better than City, then they are a top team. Unless your definition is exceptionally narrow.

That being said, I'm not sure how good City actually are. Their defence is so far below par compared to their attack.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

Howard Webb's position with BT Sport is pointless. He offers absolutely nothing.

Yet they didn't beat Juventus in two attempts.... it's an argument of semantics anyway but a team that defends as City does is not, in my mind at least, a true Champions League contender and that's the standard I'm talking about.

    Silva is so overrated.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,477 ✭✭✭✭Knex*

    Silva is so overrated.

Ahh now. He's a rough couple of minutes, but he's the absolute focal point of the attack.

He's clearly a class ahead of most players.

Not for me. Yaya is still a more integral player for City in attack than Silva for me, and Aguero of course.
