    Hello,

Apart from doing up my old Snapdragon, I've signed up to do the day skipper course, starting with the Theory element next month.

However, there a couple of bits and pieces on the practical that I'd like to get a bit more practice on before the practical element is done.

Basic stuff really, my cruiser experience to date have been varied and there are some gaps in my knowledge.

When people start thinking about heading back out to the water in a couple of months, would it be possible to get some hours logged as crew? Living in Dublin, but can travel a bit.

Winter series in Dun Laoghaire or Brass Monkeys in Howth should get you out for a nippy sunday sail. Theres a crew point on hyc website not sure about the DL clubs but sure some can advise. There is a cruising group in Howth who might be able to help you out as well as they are very active.

    Look at sailingindublin too.

It's very cheap and they're out in their two cruisers at every opportunity.

Oh, that looks interesting. Do you know if that is open to everyone? Looks like the kind of club that would suit me.

Yes. Anyone who has the vaguest idea how to sail. It's a great club. Used to be a member but for various non-sailing reasons haven't rejoined this year. Hope to get back to it next year.

It's basically unlimited sailing for under €400 a year. Amazing value.
