Hopefully, the everlasting clashes between FFR & Top14 won't be a phantom menace for Les Bleus and the repeated attacks of the clubs over the national side will eventually stop such that all the country focuses on its superior (rugby) interest: Les Bleus. They owe it to us, the fans. The revenge of the Six Nations that we HAVE to win in this favourable fiixtures year! That's it, I've made them all :pac:, let's now just shout a huge

    Allez les Bleus :D!

Good man Iroced on setting things up. I didn't have the motivation before but if a thread is made I might make some teams in the next 23 hours :)

It usually ends with me picking a team and never checking it again, but this will be the year I see it through...or at least I'll try my best :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,262 ✭✭✭iroced

Have to admit it's been a loooooong time since I've been that excited by a French team. And Novès starting a "baby" team is exactly what we wanted/expected/shouted for!

There are all the ingredients to start building future success too. Favourable 6N year (3 home games, 2 away ; 2 of the big 3 teams at home), a start with 2 home games, the easiest game first, then a team we used to like beating (:p). Everything is there for our players to start building their confidence and go to the Millenium Stadium already for the title!

But. All this excitement apart, I shall not forget our players didn't turn into geniuses in the last 4 months, Novès last couple of years at ST were meh and that the needed revolution in French rugby did not occur!

Just created FSA mini-leagues for each game (see OP). Tell me if you've got any problem joining.

  • Registered Users Posts: 465 ✭✭L.S.F

Joined the Irish Times league above

There is also one on the official site, but is quite weird in the scoring and you select proper positions (wingers, centers and not just "backs")

Seems ok from a copy and past of league and password, just says admin has to approve team

It's essentially Rugger now. Captains and everything

Although the pricing has me very confused. How is Parisse 4.5 while 3 other Italian back rows are 6?!

Irish Times question: According to the rules, you get 5 transfers allocated to you at 11 o'clock today. You then get another 5 allocated on Monday morning, but transfers don't accumulate, so you will have 5 on Monday regardless of how many you use before then.

"All transfers must be made before the published kick-off time of any match for the player(s) to be able to score points in that match. Players will only score points from the time/date that they are transferred into your team."

Does that mean you can start, say Wesley Fofana for the first game, then transfer him out for Mike Brown for the second game, then transfer him out for Keith Earls for the third game, and all of those players will score you points?

It's bizarre if that's the case, but it seems to be what the rules are saying

I'm sticking with the ESPN as I can't be bothered starting anything new, 5 players only in the FSA league so far, any more takers??

Mmmm yes it certainly reads that way... I think I'll play loads of France players today and try transfer them later so

Can I transfer players between games?

Yes, all transfers must be made by the published start time of any match, but you can transfer players out after each match has started to get your line-up ready for the next match.
You do not have to wait until the match finishes to swap players between games, as long as the players are in your team by the match deadline, they will score points for your team. Time of transfers will be recorded as per the server clock (displayed in the footer section of the web site).

How come we're that many in the Irish Times game and so few in the ESPN one ? Being 2 in Rugger is somehow a success :p thanks to Lightning Bolts .

Think I should have read the rules about the IT scoring. They changed it all. Would have selected my captain differently. Though am not too sure how it'll go. I had it on Sexton befor ethe original deadline. Changed it to Ford whom I brought in for Sexton before the second game when I realised that we have an extra transfer window in this first round. But the game rules state that the original captain is the one that counts (that would suit me since Ford got a misery score, forgot Farrell was played at 12).
Nice to be top of our league though after this first day. Like Les Bleus I might as well cheer it up while it's real, it may not last long :pac:...

Also, realised I forgot to change SOB in my ESPN team. So 14 men first round it goes...

And, in Rugger, I'm playing it Busts way (at least for the first part of the following point) . Strong 25-men team and more pts on the bench than on the pitch :pac:...

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,262 ✭✭✭iroced

Hmmm. Late decisions/non decisions killed me in this first round.

In the IT game, changed captain from Sexton to Ford (though after the first deadline, think I'll ask them why they did not let it on Sexton, maybe 'cause he wasn't in my team anymore but that'd be bizarre since you could readjust your captain after the first played game ). Anyway 52 pts deficit  . That hurts.

In the ESPN game forgot to change SOB. My candidates were either Vunipola or Faletau . Would have been top of our league...

And in Rugger woohoo I'm first out of 2 :pac:. It's a shame that they don't show an overall ranking...

    --

Oh and to come back to real life rugby, my excitement about our new padawan French team got quickly let down...

Are you sure? I transferred my captain out of the team on Saturday night and switched it to a Sunday player (but not wanting him to be my captain for Gameweek 1), and my original captain was the one who got doubled points. If you go here: http://fantasyrugby.irishtimes.com/team.aspx?page=teamProfile does it show Sexton as having doubled points?

So in Irish Times you can sub before the sunday match? This mean you can have 20 players scoring or does just the 15 you finished with count??

You can sub between the Saturday games if you want. And yes, you can have up to 20 players scoring

Goddamn Novés! Fickou out of the squad and Jedrasiak on the bench?! Earls being injured I can accept as bad luck, but those two are a waste of transfers!

Not sure at all this applies to the follwoing rounds.

The below table is a direct quote from the game rules page
Round | Time & Date | Number of transfers
    1 | 11:01 GMT on Saturday, 6th February 2016 | 5
    2 | 00:01 GMT on Monday, 8th February 2016 | 5
    3 | 00:01 GMT on Monday, 15th February 2016 | 5
    4 | 00:01 GMT on Monday, 29th February 2016 | 5
    5 | 00:01 GMT on Monday, 14th March 2016 | 5

I don't know why they "messed up" the first round but it doesn't look like we can have 20 players for this coming one and the remaining ones to come.

Tried to be clever in the IT with Nowell instead of Joseph. Should have stuck with my guns and the Joseph-Watson-Brown balance). Paid the price...

Missus continues taunting me with unbelievable returns! She's 6th ( !!!!!!) in the World! She was 3rd Saturday eve!

Claimed top spot in our ESPN league despite SOB failling me. :D.
Stayed 1613th overall. Not bad out of 100k+ entrants .

Feel I got a decent rugger round (at least my points are on the field, not on the bench :pac:). Hard to really know though since the rankings are not yet user-friendly.
Same with IT one. They "stole" a lot of ideas from Rugger, which, in my opinion, is good for us the players but can't get why both find it so complicated to have ESPN-like rankings...

Wonder what % of people have picked up that for the IT you can have up to 20 players a week count for points? None in my ML anyway.
