    Hey All,

With Valentines Day coming its time to reflect on your true love!

That car that was your favourite, the one you have regretted losing
    ever since you said goodbye.

If you love her as much as you say you do you'll still have a picture!
So post her photo below so we can behold her glory once more.

We may even find a fellow Boardsie has bought her and can reassure
you that your baby's not neglected!

I'll Start! Mercedes C180 Silver absolutely mint, loved it great power
and so comfortable but had to get rid of her as i got a new job with
    much more mileage.

    Anybody seen her lately? :o

I'm figuring you didn't do too much driving on that type of ribbed cement surface with those low profile tyres. Nice car but I found that model of the C180 a bit light and tinny.

Best car i ever had was my toyota carina 2.0 l diesel. Every so often i curse the fact that i didnt get the timing belt changed cuz she'd still be running today. Use to run it on pure vegetable oil and saved me money in tougher times

This is hard...it's been over 5 years and I can still can't stop thinking about her and miss every one of her 260 horses.

    My twin turbo legacy GT-B.

I drive a renault megane now, i like to tell myself things like the fuel economy is good, and the tax bill is low but those are just empty words.

I don't know if it's allowed, but I got two cars that got away. :(

One is my 400hp skyline. I had it off road and then sold it. Needed good few thing done for nct and not really faults, but more to do with it being 400hp Emision monster. I regret it to thus day selling it. Make it worse the asshole who bought it striped it and threw away shell in Dumpster.

Second car was my 10th anniversary edition mx5. My ex got it in "divorce". She completely wrecked it and I tried to buy it off her, but she just went stubborn mode and refused. Miss that thing.

I got my Scooby for sale right now and I wonder if I am making mistake and I will regret it again. I always chose my car carefully and the ones I want. So far I miss my old cars so badly. I bet it will happen with Scooby too.

My 5 pot 156. Broke my heart in suspension repairs and left me at the side of the road when the turbo blew while I was on my way to propose.
I always smiled getting into and always smiled when looking back at it.
It took me all over Europe, from the most westerly point of Ireland to the border with Russia and as far south as Rome and climbed over an alp.
It had the most comfortable seats I've ever come across.. Mmm momo cream leather.
I bought her with just over 100k on it and by the time it reached its faithful end when I cracked the sump off an unseen bump she had nearly 260k on it.
    Still pining for another.

I had planned on buying this RX8 R3 when my MPS sold but it was long gone before I got the chance so it really did get away! I got the 335i instead.

There is one of her after she got smashed into by a drunk driver in Italy but its on another computer.
It was a blu vela coloured 156 with cream leather and unfortunately didn't have the pepper pot alloys.
It's the one reg I've also never forgotten and still have the plates as a memory of what motoring to me was all about.

Another guy here who misses his MR2.

It was a 91 gltd, really loved it, fun to drive.

Then the kids came along and it had to go.

Think I got £500 for it. Still miss it.

    Definitely my RX-8.

    I bought it when I was 21.

Imported it from the UK myself and paid extra for the nice reg plate, which it only ever wore on the back :p

The car was only 4 years old and a relatively rare sight on Irish roads at the time.. it used to always get looks and compliments (especially from the ladies :D)

I miss it because it was a cracking car but also because I associate it with being 21, which was a great year for me :)

Only sold it as I went off to Australia with a group of friends.

It ended up in the hands of the owner of irishrotary.com so I know it contiuned to be well taken care of but he sold it on and I dont know who owns it now.

A friend of mine sees it around from time to time and says it looks to be well minded.

If I ever came across it for sale, I'd definitely buy it back.

I miss every car I ever sold :(
I miss my Integra Type R for its raw fun.
Miss my Evo 5 for its brute force power (few tweeks running 360bhp).
I miss my V8 X5 for the comfort and surprisingly ease at gaining speed. Was just as quick as the DC2 in the real world.
Miss my LCI 535d for its comfort, luxury and God could that thing move, 350bho and 500 foot pounds of torques after the remap.

Other mentionable favorites, my old S3, E39 530d. If I could take anyone back t would probably be the 535d or the Evo.

Alfa 156. Only a 1.6 TS but a sweet sweet car and once I sorted the suspension never missed a beat. Still going flawlessly at 150k miles. I always wanted a high spec 159Ti, but there are none in the country.

I still have the car I passed my test in 16 years ago. Was my first car and I toured all of Ireland and even England in it a few times. Couldn't sell it as it gave me so much freedom! Even if it's a K11 Micra! In that time I've had it it's laid up for 2 years at one stage without being started etc. then I needed it one time so put a battery in and it started 1st turn. It's off the road a few years now again too.

    Hi,

    My 1991 Alfa Romeo 33 1.7 16V Coverleaf.

I'm sure there is probably some rose tinted glasses associated with my memory but I loved that car. Great sound from the boxer engine, great acceleration, not so awesome brakes but on its day it would put a smile on your face... :)

Alas it has probably rusted away long ago, don't see many of those era Alfas around as they did suffer from the dreaded rust :(

I don't have a pic to post but here's a link to one that looks similar to mine except mine had the proper pepper pot alloys:

How true that is. Considering what me as an oulfella is being charged for a similar era Japanese import with a bit of poke, to insure it you'd have to rob a bank. Every day.

Another fantastic car. Insane engine, unreal handling. Actually I'd reckon as an overall package it may even have a slight edge on the Integra DC2 R* and I say that as an owner of the latter.

    I miss my 80's Ford Capri. :(

    Ford_Capri_Mark_3_2.jpg
    Not mine of course.

Slow as geological time, but wonderful steering, gorge gearbox, fantastic driving position in those Recaro seats, big boot and that view over the bonnet and I learned to drive in it :) It was still alive and in good nick in the mid noughties, but is likely gone now, though they picked up in value so maybe not. A while back in my local supermarket I parked beside a UK reg restored beauty of a Capri Laser and got chatting to the owner. As petrolheads will. Nostalgia central. :o Though as he pointed out with my DC2 Integra and his Capri parked side by side and comparing driving positions(damn near identical) and recaro seats the apple didn't fall that far from the tree. :) Ever since I was a kid and saw Steve McQueen in Bullit that general two door, feck all rear legroom, fastback roof and long bonnet coupe style always appealed. In my head that layout = car.

*it might be my imagination but I find the Teg is more forgiving on the limit, but the Civic was more pointable?

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Most of the cars I've owned have been boring boxes that I've driven into the ground and been glad to see the back of in the end. Notable exception was my first - a 1973 Renault 16 TS. My Dad bought it as a new car, my Mum had it for a while and I got it after I learned to drive in 1984. It only lasted a couple of years after that before the chassis started to rust away. I don't have a picture, but it was just like this one:
    Renault-R16-TL-1973.jpg

I loved the individuality - gear shift on the steering column and handbrake on the floor by your right leg. The handling wasn't bad for a large 70s family car, and I remember it as the most comfortable car I've ever driven. The driver's seat was like a favourite armchair and the ride was so smooth. Modern cars, including so called premium brands, are mostly really poor in comparison.

Drove and owned many EK9s and DC2s but would definitely have a B18 Civic over the Teg any day. While journalists and racing drivers think they're the bees knees, I'm not the most apt driver and the Civic is far more stable and doesn't have that fear provoking twitch on corner entry that DC2s have. Every time I drive a DC2 I feel like I WILL crash it and I WILL die :o

I also think the facelift EK9s in particular are far better finished off than the DC2s but still raw enough.

That's why it angers me even more that be scraped the shell. 4 doors are so epic and rare. You can stoll get r33 2 doors easily.

I am not Honda head, but always had a sweet spot for ek9, though if I woukd go for one it would be k20 conversion. A combination made in heaven. :)

I miss my 84 Mk2 Scirocco Storm, one of 300 in Cosmos blue , Full leather, headlamp washers, tilt and slide sunroof, discs all round.
I sold it to a guy and he started to strip the interior for a Beetle!
I saw it later in a scrapyard, what a prick to do that to a car like that.
This isn't it but mine was identical.
