Apparently the annual bin charge I paid panda in January, is only good till July, when they will charge for green bins. Do you think we will get rebates?

Was it €55 you paid ? If so, that's the half yearly charge. They're going by weight from July 1st. That's when the fun really starts.

Panda bought Greenstar today so maybe prices will go up or down.

Up of course. When have charges ever come down?

They'll come out with some spin about extra costs due to consolidation of services and reassignment of strategic infrastructure to justify them.

has anyone actually spoke to them about the 110 for the year when the service is changing in july?

It all depends on what route you're on. If you log in to the Panda website using the account number and PIN on the invoices they send you you'll be able to download the calendar for your route.

Live in D9, but got invoice yesterday for annual charge - only looking for €55 but period on invoice is only up to June.
No explanation about what happens after that, or that even anything is happening.
Looked on website, no info either, nor is there a price list!
Received a letter last week saying that paper tags are being done away with in March - you need to sign up for e-tags.
Looked on website, could find nothing, not even mentioned in T&C's.
Not sure what's going on with this company!

Just off the phone to them. They have no idea what they are doing in July as in what way the pricing will be, how much per kg, how it will be collected ect.

She said i could pay €55 for 6 months if I wanted and wait and see what happens in July.

Told her i would think about it.

There was an alternative last year but I cant remember who it was

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,864 ✭✭✭horse7

Anyone been given a 6 month rebate yet?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19 darcey1971

I just got a reply to an email (shocking customer service) saying that any monies owed from the annual fee would be refunded or credited to my account. Also said they have no information on pricing structure per kg.

    Guys,

Sorry to Hijack the thread, but any idea how much Panda charge for a repalcement green wheelie bin?
Put ours out for collection yesterday & it disappeared... asked a few of the neighbours had they taken ours by mistake (ours has the house number painted on so its pretty obvious) but they all had their own... so as its stands we're down a green bin... We'd fill ours in the week collection period so would need a replacement quickly.

Used to be somewhere around 30€ a pop for black or green replacements IIRC.

Late to the party on this but a few months ago I got a flyer from them about setting up your account to pay per lift that way. I checked the link on the email they sent me which had a few details and rang to see if they could just set it up there and then but they needed card details from me, which I didn't have with me at the time.

But now, as you say, there's no such mention on their website any more and the link I had is now dead.

Has anyone got one of them e-tags yet ? Got a letter to say that will be the only way to pay now but you have to ring up to register.

I rang them last week to register - easy enough process you just need your bank card, They put through a debit of 12c to verify card. Then you just has to put out your bin and the payment will be charged to your account

I thought it was going to be pay by weight (kg)

Yes ,it is. Really its just a transition from the old bin tag system.

Of course all CS staff will be told to give the same response to any inquiries: "No sorry, we don't know anything about charges that will kick in once it goes pay-by-weight but we will let you know in due course"

    Hi guys

Does anybody know what bins are being collected in Dublin 15 (Hartstown) tomorrow? Trying to find out for my mum (as she was saying some charges are taking effect after tomorrow - I don't know!?!), and she doesn't have her account details to hand.

The Panda collection for where I am in Hartstown is on Tuesday, not tomorrow. If yours is the same then it's the black and brown bins this week.

I got a prepaid card in today. It says if you top up by less than €20 there is a €2 admin charge.
Also they said you have to have two advance payments on the card otherwise no bins will be lifted.
What did i pay €110 in December for then ?
They have me confused so will have to fire off an email.

I believe the €110 charge is for the "overall" service, irrespective of how many or few bins put out--- each Black is currently charged for as per details above-- with speculation being that all bins will be charged separately, at differing amounts, from a date yet to be confirmed.

From 1st of June all companies nationwide will have same charging system, per bin.

Yes but they have said no bins will be collected if you don't have your account in credit

It is a nightmare. They only sent me the card on Friday. I had no time to top up. I rang them & they told me to use a bin tag this monday. Fine except no shops have any left. I then tried to top up online but there is no option on my account to do that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,201 ✭✭✭ongarboy

I set up direct debit after I got a notice on my last paper tag bin drop that paper tags would be no longer accepted. They then deducted 9 euro straight off my account even though I hadnt put a black bin out since registering for the e-tag system. When I rang, they said it was a timing issue and that they'd credit my account with the same amount.....

Do they charge the €110 annual fee to the card they have on file ? there are four of us renting a house in Tyrellstown & whilst I don't mind putting my card up for the bins lifts, I don't want to get caught for the annual fee as that comes under the landlords agreement
