Is there any way to play the Old Head Kinsale without a second mortgage or selling the children? Do they do Senior Opens or an Open Week?

They do a twilight deal for GUI members which is €95 I think in the low season. Standard low season green fees are €160.

Don't know what constitutes a twilight round there, but this time of the year you'd want to be teeing off no later than about noon or not long after to make it around before dark.

Are they even open this time of year? I though they closed it for most of the winter because the wind makes it impossible - balls won't stay on greens etc.

    Doesn't look it.

    Low season 14/04/16 - 05/05/16 and 17/10/16 - 30/10/16

Twilight round starts after 14:30 (low) and 16:00 (high).

IMO it isn't worth it. It's a beautiful and breath-taking setting, but I didn't think the course itself was up to the standard of the scenery. Some good holes, but far better courses available for the money they are asking. That said, it was an experience to play it, but that was mainly down to where it is and what you see.
