[Technical advice] navman instruments

So the winter tinkering is finally underway, the boat's been on the hard since 2014 :'( and it's time to dust off the cobwebs for this season ahead.
Unfortunately a lot of sun - water damage has destroyed my navman1200 instrument displays.
I was wondering has anyone had experience in changing display systems while using the old sensors from a different system? I know a lot of brands don't talk with other very well (garmin vs Raymarine etc.) as there's different comm signals. Has anyone overcome this and how?
Also if anyone has found sensors that have the same diameter as the old sets and how easy or hard was it to change them over?
