    Here we go... Again!

Can the show be as bad as last year?

Is there any talent out there yet to be discovered?

    Will you be watching?

I went to one of the blinds and then a battles show so am really really excited to see reactions to some of my favourites from the show and also to see if I can spot myself in the crowd! :D

Hopefully as bad as last year or hopefully theres more talent to be discovered.

Never that found of the show, the people in the seats are the talent (or so they think) not the singers.

Trust me there are some crackers. One in particular stood out for me but there were a few very very talented singers in there.

    Same judges as last year;

Cian - former member of a very successful boy band
Brezzie - singer & mental health guru
Rachel - former member of a very successful pop band
Una - member of the most famous girl band nobody has ever heard of.

I like the interactions between Cian & Brezzie, seems like they get on, but try to slate each other when they can.

    Do people actually watch it?

I only watch it because my girlfriend (who is foreign) watches and likes these sort of shows, so to provide balance in our life, I compromise and sit through these shows, casting a very judgemental eye on proceedings!!

I actually enjoy more the Twitter & Boards discussions more than the actual show itself.

surely anyone decent has already been on The Voice of Ireland, has decided it's a waste of time or has tried one of the U.K. Shows ? Will probably watch the auditions anyhow but haven't made it past that in a few years

Yet again hosted by Katheryn Thomas & Eoghan 'haircut McDermott,

Neither of which are suited to hosting any sort of entertainment show!!

    She can't sing!!

It's just a gimmick song!! It's singers like this that make a mockery of the premise of the show!!

Yeah, the gay song is fun, but she couldn't sing! So how did she even make it to that stage?

It seems like RTÉ will put on anything and everything associated with being gay lately!! It's almost like they are trying to rid themselves of homophobic tendencies or something!

    She was fun though!

I agree, but fun isn't going to win a singing competition that wants to be taken seriously.

Totally agree but by getting to record with Bressie, she has probably done better than the winner will!

Oh, I didn't hear that bit, I was too busy typing furiously away on my phone!!

    Fair play to her then.

Yer wan from the Saturdays was on the Daniel O Donnell show the other night with her uncle Declan Nerney, and they were useless.

Bressie can't even launch his own career!

It is, but as someone who has to watch it due to my other half,

I've decided I'm going to embrace the cringe, and take it as nothing more than a big joke and something to laugh at.

Out of all of them though, he's got the most experience of/exposure to the world these singers are trying to break in to!!

He was still there though, he was the one being produced, he might not have been making the decisions, but the decisions revolved around him and 3/4 other lads, surely they picked up a few tips & tricks along the way

Looks like Katheryn Thomas has lost a bit of weight, she looks almost gaunt, and about 5 years older than last year!

Still very patronising though "aw, your a little trier, well done you"

Recorded the show earlier... awful tripe so far!
Last I'd heard only Una had committed to do another series, bit surprised to see all the others back too.
Nobody interesting (to me) so far.
Kind of pointless this show, what do the winners ever do once the cameras stop rolling?

One of the finalists got a reality TV series out of it - Kelly Mongan.

I saw a 'Reality Bites' show on a few weeks ago, about talent show contestants - the track record of The Voice of Ireland was sad. Even the British one doesn't produce 'hit records' but the Irish girl who sang opera (WillIam was her coach) and made it to the final did land a lead in a West End Show.

Was that the show with Eoin from newspaper with Lulu Walsh, Bressie and Kian kinda made TVOI show sound sh*t and waste of time

I thought two of the previous winners were excellent performers - Pat Byrne and Brendan. Some good talent there, but a pity that the show can't actually seem to help them to make the career they promise to give them!
