Is there any good places to go, to watch planes land and take off at Knock Airport?!

As you turn off the N17 and head up the R376 toward the airport, you can turn left and drive up towards the airport fuel farm and the telecoms installations. If you turn left at the top, you can go right in among the approach lights for runway 27, and let the planes fly right over your head on approach (assuming the wind is westerly, which it usually is).

Will there be anyone out to move you on?! With security around airports, being the way it is!

It's outside the airport security fence, and you're likely to see other spotters and photographers there. It's not really any different to the places you can sit on the approach paths to Dublin or Shannon.

Looking at in on google maps, you're on about the west end of the runway?

Assuming it's a westerly breeze, they'll be taking off starting from this end also?

Yup. They'll taxi out, backtrack to the east, turn around on the turning circle, then take off to the west.

Landings are much more fun. :)
