I use a Canon 7D, lens 300mm F4L coupled with my 1.4 extender the total weight is around 2.2k approx.

I used my current cheap tripod on a bird photography trip to the Bull wall yesterday, which is very unstable especially with the wind yesterday.

Got some good shots..a lot were not sharp

I'm looking for a good sturdy Tripod with decent gimbal head.

My price range wound be around 200 What would you recommend??

Changed my price range..300 is a bit high

    Thanks
    Joe

In your price range there are lots very good ones on offer. As i wasn't willing to spend that much i got Q999 professional tripod on aliexpress with DHL 3 days delivery and it was 60e only. Couldn't be happier with the tripod, very steady and well built. But it's my first tripod, maybe professional photographers could recommend smth better.

I have been using Manfrotto for a long time now. They can be cost the same as a lesser brand if you buy a used one and they last for years.
