Hey I'm just wondering about something, anyone who anything about me...knows I like feet.

Well there's a guy who takes videos of girls feet in public, it's called real bare soles. He uploads the clips online and adds a description. Some stories are very interesting if the girl notices they are being filmed.

What I am wondering is how would you react if someone was videotaping your feet.

Also curious if you have ever caught a guy looking at your feet

    Lol, no I am not

I wouldn't have the audacity to do, it's a guy in New York who does it

I once caught a guy filming my legs. When caught and asked to delete it, his response was "don't worry I won't post it on after hours, it's just for me". Yes. He's a boardsie. And yes, a fcuking creep.

So that's what I think of people like that :)

Normally I'm all, to each their own, but you sound like you're only a small step away from sniffing bike saddles.

I do agree with you that it is invasive. I don't agree with the fact that he doesn't ask for consent doing the videos.

I know other people who do it but ask the woman before hand

Wow that's all sorts of super creepy.

Okay you have no idea what a "normal" guy who likes feet is like.

Just because you think it's weird you condemn it

I mean how many guys stare at girls ass or boobs? and that's considered normal practice among many guy groups.

Strange as it may sound, i reckon women would be more at ease with someone filming their breasts, legs etc. than their feet? (as the feet thing is quite a minority affair?).

That said, i don't think I understand the whole foot fetish thing.

I'd imagine a lot of the reaction would based on how/who asks? If the chap asking is a bit charming and someone the woman considers good looking she'd be more 'flattered' by it all?

Like if I asked someone, I'd probably be beat with their shoes (maybe I'd be into that though? :P )

Nope. All above board. Public place = fair game.

Well that particular guy films in France and I think the women are more laid back. He does get plenty of rejection but also many who don't mind at all.

Yes many girls who prefer guys looking at their boobs than their feet but again depends on their views.

Nope, not in the slightest. While you have only a reasonable expectation of privacy (so in public generally, but not always, none) you are covered by data protection laws.

Because find a woman's ass or boobs attractive is normal, getting a boner looking at a foot isn't.

It's right up there with those assholes with GoPros, people who film things in public as they walk around, and people who take selfies or photographs of places/each other when there are other people walking around.

But finding legs sexy is fine?

Since I've been told by a Galway guy that my boners are wrong, I'll know now not to get them.

That is ridiculous, people are into all sorts of crazy things.

The way I see it, as long as there is consent and everyone enjoys it. Then so what.

I apologize for starting this thread.

At least with posting this, the women who don't want to be filmed are aware that this happens. I hope also you can't prevent someone doing it.

I don't agree with filming without consent.

I didn't say it was wrong, I just don't get what's so attractive about someone's foot.

I can't fully explain why myself. I just like the shape and you can have a lot of fun with them, assuming the girl you are with is fine with it.
I mean why do you like boobs/asses or whatever you like?

I like them clean though if I am touching, I'm not into licking them etc.

I'm not that type of guy who films feet or smell shoes when girls aren't looking.
It's not right to do sort of thing in my opinion, just being creepy and sneaky about it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,544 ✭✭✭Samaris

I would probably not notice, to be honest. If I did, I'd be a bit "is he -actually- photographing my feet? Nah, that's ridiculous." If I actually twigged it all in time, I'd probably give them a fairly filthy look. I suspect it's more creepy and a bit slimy than illegal.

    andrew_b - uh...picture probably clear enough already.

    That's what public means really
If someone is following you down the street with their iPhone you can and should ask them to stop and it could be described as harassment, but the Gardai are unlikely to take it any further then MAYBE advising the "harasser" that they are upsetting you
The truth is that when you are out in public you simply cannot know what every other person is doing all the time
Someone could be walking around with a camera hidden on them filming for hours
There is no way to control this
If you want to remain completely private and anonymous you need to stay in your own home
My mothers neighbor has developed such a serious complex about being observed, identity theft etc that she rarely leaves the house
It's not agrophobia it's a serious social phobia combined with security paranoia really
    I feel sorry for her

On phone so its a pain to search, but the gist is you have a right to keep your personal data private, this includes photos. Newspapers, artists etc have an exception to this. A creep recording you doesn't.

That doesn't apply in the US though afaik.

this isn't fully correct. You don't have an expectation of privacy in public in general, but this isn't always the case. Taking and publishing photos isn't generally allowed. For example, taking pics of people heading into an AA meeting would definetly not be allowed.

What data protection laws are being broken when filming in public?
If a wedding videographer is shooting the couple arriving at the hotel do you imagine that a guest, relaxing in the hotel but unrelated to the wedding, can demand that filming cease due to data protection issues?

    You're still wrong :P

Just to give an example: If you get done for molesting a woman's toes ( :p ) and you're headed into court, I can stand outside a photo/video you to my heart's content. Because you have no right to privacy and what I'm doing is fully legal.

Then these photos can be used in newspapers and such without your permission.

If I stole your bank account details, you could claim I'm stealing data, but a photo of you, as a person, wandering down the street, is completely above board and legal.

Not saying it's moral in all cases, but it's always legal.

EDIT: also the exception you mention isn't to do with the person recording the footage/taking the pics, the exception is for the use of the material. (ie, newspaper is editorial, so perfectly fine, but sticking your face on a billboard to promote my business requires consent)

If people are standing around chatting whatever outside the AA building you can't demand that they move or if they are taking pictures of the building you can't demand that they stop
"I demand that you cease taking pictures of the outside of this building "
    "No"
"Well then I'm going to get the Gardai "
    "Go ahead"

Sorry, while I generally agree with what you have said it is not always the case that once you are in public your image can be taken and used to any end.
