Straight pipe on the fiat, preferably with the sunroof open. Sometimes a pleasant hum or more likely creaks and groans on the 5000. Anything on the radio except joe duffy in the jeep.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

News talk until the sports comes on, then John Creedon 8 till 10. Or on CD, Steve Earle/Rory Gallagher/Springsteen/Warren Zevon/Mark Germino.

Gave up listening to 2fm after they axed will leahy, thought he was a good dj. Nothing but today fm now all the time in the house, Dermot and Dave are seriously good, but don't hear enough of them.
V sad to admit, but I tend the turn off the radio in the tractor if I'm driving now, affects my thinking time.
Gave up using the radio in the parlour as well

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,456 ✭✭✭✭Base price

No radio in the tractor and I like it that way so you can listen to hum of engine/machine and know if something is going wrong. I actually like the peace of my own thoughts when doing mundane/repetitive work.
Radio doesn't work in the jeep but CD does - anything that is at hand Springsteen, Led Zeppelin, Deadmau5, Ultravox, Spandau Ballet mostly 80's & 90's music.
When in the van listen to Newstalk, RTE 1 and Lyric FM - depends on my mood and what is on.

have aquarium and tenacious d aswell. can't believe I bought aqua!!! lad milking for me leaves the radio in parlour on 2fm. jaysus I can't stomach that at all. or iradio. in the mornings depending on the humour I'd flick around Q102 or 4fm maybe, normally newstalk after dinner

Today fm in the car on way to work. News talk on the way home. Prefer to leave the radio in the tractor off except for premiership live on Saturdays and the oul gaa. Can't concentrate at work with it turned on!

Rarely listen to the radio as I have the aux cable for the iPod in the Jeep. That's mostly full of remixes or deep house music(aka noise for ye oldiesðŸ˜) and a bit of johnny cash here and there. How many of ye that download music actually pay for it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,313 ✭✭✭✭Sam Kade

I couldn't listen to jack schitt with my tractor as the q cab has lost it's q :( When I was working for another farmer a few years ago doing lots of tillage I used to listen to RTE 1, Joe duffy is on that I presume. It's so long since I tuned in.

I remember when I was younger ;) a local contractor bought 2 new 4wd Deutz. I was in his yard the morning they arrived as I used to do a bit of weekend work for him tending calves. Both tractors came with radios fitted as standard which was a new thing at that time. They were not off the delivery trailer half a hour but he was in the cabs removing the radios.
I asked him why he as taking them out and he said he wasn't paying fellas to listen to the radio while his tractors/machines got f...ed cause the couldn't hear what was going on outside the cab.

Nothing more annoying if you are listening to some interesting story on the radio while feeding cattle, then you have to get off the tractor to do other work.

Uuuuuuugggghhhh go to hell. He was cool for a week, now stupidly overplayed everywhere.

Anyways mostly 2fm in the parlour and the tractor, need a new radio in both soon though, will definitely be getting Bluetooth so I can fire on Spotify through the phone.

Used to listen to 2fm or today fm in the morning. Got listening to marty on lyric then. Matt cooper or newstalk in the afternoon. Problem with most radio is the repetition of music would drive you insane!
