No, they weren't, they got the chop because they were not able to maintain successful results.

LVG has been afforded a huge transfer fund and has seen the team go backwards in term's of results. Most fans have been more than patient.

Not when you merely take in the time frame without considering other factors such as the money spent on the squad, results, recent form, style of play etc.

The football hasn't improved in his tenure. United have gone backwards this season. Results have been atrocious. So has the football. It's evidently getting worse the longer he's there.

Football is a results game, failure to get results, particularly given the financial backing that LVG has gotten is simply not acceptable. If the signs were there that we were getting better then I'd absolutely give him more time however the fact is we look worse now than we did 12 months ago.

(This is off topic for this thread but I'll answer your post: Weird mentioning Rodgers as he got 3 and a bit full seasons. At the end the team hadn't moved on and he was replaced. That was a decent spell imo. Hodgson was a disaster - skirting near the relegation places.)

And do more damage to the club? Blind loyalty is not the answer.

A bit of brave decisive decision making is required. He shouldn't still be in the job at this stage and Utd are partially in the mess they are in for their lack of decisive action under Moyes reign, where it was as clear as day well before Christmas that it wasn't working and the players had downed tools under him.

If the board had axed him before the January transfer window the season may have been salvaged somewhat and we wouldn't have had the over drastic actions with the squad under Van Gaal, not to mention the cowardly football.

He's been given free reign at the club, with a fortune to spend and ballsed it up royally. Add that with the putrid football that he's dished up and results to go with it and there's no doubt in my mind his time is up.
