Did you get any presents that other people would absolutely hate to be given?

I got this stuff for cleaning my car and I'm only feckin delighted!

Also got a turbo trainer to turn my bicycle into an indoor trainer. Reeeeally wanted one of those but most people would hate to get something like that!

    Anything similar AH?

    Got some socks.

I like socks, wear 'em nearly all the time. Never understand why people don't like getting socks.

I always get at least one pair of novelty Christmas socks. This year is no different. The theme is 'Baaah Humbug' (with sheep).

I was given charitable donations to two charities I love as a gift, and I know a lot of people hate that. I much prefer a gift with the power to change someone in needs life to getting yet another bottle of perfume or gift voucher that I don't need!

I got exactly what I wanted! A heat gun and a book on Little & Lewis's garden and sculptures :) Brilliant! http://www.littleandlewis.com/

Don't know anyone else who would be happy with that exact combination of pressies, but it worked for me.....

Oooooh what one did you get? Mine's my first so only a startery one. I have a potentially broken wrist so haven't got to set it up yet but it's being set up for me tomorrow!

I got fcuk all. Now while some people might think that's a bit crap, I think it's great. The great thing about having fcuk all is you have fcuk all to worry about.

I'd love if someone donated to my local SPCA in my name.

I got a sewing machine one year from the husband. Other people thought it wasn't romantic but it was exactly what I asked for and I love using it!
I was much happier getting that than something "romantic" I didn't want or need.

I'd say there are very few people who would think a laptop is a sh*t present ... Unless it's an actual top for your lap?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,557 ✭✭✭madalig12

A tea cosy. It looks like a sheep.

    Books/colouring books.

My Mam and Dad always get me books and I'm always thrilled. I haven't been to them over Christmas so far because they've been working but when we do exchange pressies in a few days, I'm hoping I get books.

I'd love a colouring book too as I'm in love with the one I bought online last month.

Golf club, have wanted it all year but couldn't justify buying it myself, so it's a great Xmas present.

Errr..you got a laptop. Why , as per the OP, does everyone else think it's shi*t? Is it a Fisher-Price one, My First little Laptop, and you're thirty-nine?

I got a 20 year old games console that's totally obsolete, even by technology that I own

I got a black and decker cordless drill from my girlfriend one year.
Was delighted with it for about 20 minutes and then the calls started trickling in.
    All from her family.
Her mother was first with some press doors that were falling down.
It was then I realised I'd been stitched up good and proper! Fûckers!!
