    What's anyone up to?

With family, dog by the fire. Wine in my hand. I'm very content.

    Happy Christmas all.

    How you spending the night?

Currently on my first can of beer. I will be heading out for a few pints despite the ****e weather and hoping I don't overindulge in alcohol as I'm meant to be cooking the Christmas dinner tomorrow for the first time. Me granny usually cooks it but she's sick :/

Not my happiest Christmas. Mother is in hospital rather ill here in Mullingar while my wife is at home in Clonmel with our lovely dogs. She'd be here as well if we could kennel them but late notice meant it was'nt possible. Oh yes and no television because the dish got skewed in the wind.
Still I'm thinking of that poor family in Fermoy who lost a mother and daughter in an accident. And the girl who went missing in Clonmel some weeks ago was taken from the river yesterday.

Count your blessings wherever you are, and have a happy Christmas.

Just finished a few games on Xbox live with my brother.

Now trying to get the kids asleep but the eldest fella keeps hearing noises down in the sitting room and is wondering if Santa is out there.

Sitting by the fire with my mother, watching the Masterchef final and making plans to meet up with a few friends in a while. Our first Christmas without my dad so even though it's a bit sad, I'm realising how lucky I am (especially after reading other people's posts) and am reminded that "if you have a family who loves you, a few good friends, food on your table and a roof over your head, then you're richer than you think". Merry Christmas lovely Boardsies.

Sitting on couch trying to persuade the dog to be friends again. She's in a huff because I just gave her a bath. Couldn't find the doggie shampoo so she smells like coconuts now.

    Have a good one,everyone.

Working, in the North at the minute so able to get internet, it's all down at home, if it's not back by tomorrow I'm probably going to have to go have a conversation with somebody.

Just sitting down with a beer in front of a blazing stove. Had a lovely day so far. Brought the small one into the annual Christmas eve work party this morning. Some friends called with some home brew beers they'd made so we did a swap for some of my own. Called into our elderly neighbours for awhile and had a drink with them. The small one is just gone down to bed so will be helping Santa put the gifts under the tree shortly before a reasonably early night.

Happy Christmas one and all... and for those of you finding it tough this time of year, I was once in that place, and it will pass. Take care.

Nice one, Seafields. True spirit of Christmas right there.

Can only reiterate your final paragraph.

Just back from my parents and enjoying an Irish coffee.
There was a good gang of us there and conversation briefly turned to all those families around the country that have lost loved ones in various accidents this past week. It was a sombre mood obviously, but it was good to spend a few moments thinking of those whose Christmas will be a sorrowful period
Have a happy, peaceful and joyous Christmas guys. Hope you and yours have a lovely day.

I'm here debating whether its time for Santy to arrive or do I leave it another couple of hours in case junior wakes up to use the toilet...DO I wake him now or take a chance ???

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,389 ✭✭✭NachoBusiness

I'm just about to watch Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back and maybe Jedi if I'm still awake. I bought them today as I had presumed they'd be shown in the flicks on the run up to Awakens. How wrong was I. So, I've avoided the spoilers and the like and will see it St Stevie's Day in the IMAX.

Merry Christmas to you all and may your night be as merry as Christmas is when.. ah look just enjoy yourselves.

Having a cuppa before bed. Its been a long day seeing people, doing a load of cooking and getting the house ready for visitors. My husband is just in from work so I'm seeing him for the first time today. Wrecked tired and still have tomorrow to get through but looking forward to it all the same. Have a lovely Christmas folks.

Kids in bed, and watching Bad Santa with the OH while she wraps presents.

The scene where they teach the kid to box gets tears of laughter every time. :D

I was watching Taken on the television, better than the same old father ted episode from 20 years ago. I will watch A Christmas Carol tomorrow but will switch off when Scrooge gets in the festive spirit.

I was having a wonderful time. My sister and her fella had just announced their new little one on the way. Then my miserable dickhead cockhead brother decided to destroy everyone's happiness by being an absolute bellend as always. Happy Christmas everyone.

Santy's been. Groundwork for dinner done. Having a few drinks now. Not too many though. The shifty little feckers got up at about 4am last year.
