Any boardsies know where I might get a 5 foot plus teddybear. If I can get one in or near Cork that would be great but willing to travel a reasonable distance for that last elusive pressie.

What kind of weird genetic experiment leads to a five footed teddy bear. Is it like the 4 ass monkey from southpark ?

    Hamleys have life sized giraffes.

    Close enough.

I googled "5ft teddy" and just got lingerie sites. I added "toys" and the results were quite disturbing.

    I need a lie down.

You could build a bear yourself. Check out the Bilderberg Group.

    Up North too far away?

Or you could try this florist, phone no. seems to be a Dublin number.

Try searching for "Giant stuffed teddy bear Ireland"

Is your heart set on a teddy bear?
My missus is 5ft and I'll even deliver.

    No Way!

    How did he get there?

Must have been in a car with a sunroof. At this time of year?

    Madness.

You must be using a different google to me? Lots of decent responses and not a thunderpant or disturbing image in sight!

She growls anytime I get near her face.

There's this guy in Smyths, but only about 3 foot tall. Would he do if you're stuck?

Any point asking why it has to be so big? Personally i'd hate to see anyone coming with a Teddy that size! All very wow and fairytale impressive but a pain in the ass spacewise. Sometimes less is more and all that ye know.

There were some very large teddies of some sort (I think they were white) in M&S on Merchant's Quay in Cork today. Can't tell you if they were the full five foot or not - I suspect they were less, really, but I do remember sleepily (I'd just gotten off a bus) thinking "bloody hell, those are enormous teddy bears" as I passed them.

Cork council provide giraffe shuttle buses around Christmas, you'd be surprised how popular it is.

If your post was a joke it was a pretty poor attempt at humour. I think it's more likely you thought you'd get away with claiming that the big bad internet somehow misinterpreted your search.

As my grandchildren would say "whatever!"

It was a joke, a gag, a bit fun. Think what you like but you couldn't be further from the truth.

Relax for pity's sake. It's Christmas!

It was on the smallest one's letter to Santa. If the man can deliver belief in Santa might last another year. Though I'm beginning to suspect I'm being outsmarted as If he didn't believe in Santa there'd be one present less under the tree on Christmas morning.

      • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,634 ✭✭✭FishOnABike

Well, mission accomplished. Faith in Santa's magical powers to deliver the impossible live on for another year. Had scoured Cork to no avail but found one in Toymaster in Bandon when I was just passing.

I'll have to fine tune sending Santa letters next year. Not too soon so that they change their minds before the big day but not too late to make it too much of a challenge to find what's on their wish lists.

Thanks for the suggestions, and the AH style comments that brought a smile to my face. Happy Christmas to all.
