Virgin Thompson Router DMZ with Linksys XAC1900

    Hi All,

I am trying to avoid using the Virgin Thompson other than as a modem so I bought the Linksys XAC1900. The Virgin box doesn't have bridge mode so I found a post on here explaining DMZ.

Basically I set the Linksys to 192.168.0.2 and added that the DMZ on the Virgin box. All worked well for a few minutes then all I could do was share files over the network but not access the internet.

Chrome gives the following error when trying to go to a webpage DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NO_INTERNET

The linksys ui tool just reports no internet access.

Any help with this would be great.

You can set DNS addresses on the Linksys (or on individual devices).
Try Google DNS: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 - info here.

    As per this? http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057106714

I was afraid of messing around with it too much as I am no expert and didn't want to brick it or anything so close to Christmas.

    Is there a better way?
