How often do you change your underwear/clothes?

uch more likely to wear socks again than underwear. I change underwear twice a day, socks once a day. Back in the day (few years ago) before I started taking serious responsible for my hygiene, I could make underwear last a couple of days, a week or so, socks could last a whole week no bother, same with t shirts, and I don't think I ever washed say, jeans. Now it goes like

Underwear - change twice a day, shower twice a day.
    Socks - every day.
    T-shirt - every day
    Jeans - every friday
    Jackets - every 14 days
Coats - every month unless it smells or has something spilled on it

When you say, change underwear, you mean a clean one, or the inside out?

Changes underwear twice a day? FFS.

This is going to go the same road as the "How often do you shower?" thread.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,022 ✭✭✭jamesbere

Unless you're very active, why would you need to shower twice a day

Underwear - once a day generally, more if playing sport
    Socks - every day
    T-shirt - every day / 2 days
Jeans - just before they start to walk by themselves ;)
Jackets - always mixing it up on this front
    Coats - Never! mwahahahahahahaha

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,737 ✭✭✭✭kylith

    Knickers - daily
Bra - once or twice a week, or depending on what I'm wearing
    Socks - every 2 days
    Jeans - 2-3 days
    Tops - daily

Jocks and socks every day. New clothes? Every Christmas. New shoes/runners? When old ones wear out or look grubby. I wash each shirt after about three wears. I tend to wear the same trousers every day for a week. My wife normally tells me when things are getting out of hand

    * Looks in crystal ball.
The spirits tell me that someone will come along and tell us they dont change their underwear more often than twice a week as it is not necessary.
They will then tell us they shower every third day whether they need to or not.
And their bed sheets get changed only at the summer and winter solstice.
People will be outraged, start insulting this poster and the thread will get shut down*

Some advice from from the Young Ones

Neil: Come on guys, I don't think we should let this experience bring us down. After all, what's so wrong with dirty clothes anyway?

Rick: Yeah! you know, what they say - dirty pants, clean botty.

    Mike: Dirty duvet, dirty mind.

Vyvyan: Yeah - my knickers are so old, it's only the stubborn understains that are holding them together.

I wear my bras for a lot longer, crazy considering it probably gets more sweat on it than a t shirt would :o

Jocks, t-shirt and socks every single day.

Outerwear - a couple of times weekly, depending on what I'm doing.

Midweek, if it's just work I'm heading to, I'll use the previous days jocks. Helps the environment. I do change socks everyday. Jeans are great though, they just keep going and going. It's only the smell or the stains that sees them done in the end *take a look at current pair* Ah they're alright for another while.

Socks and underwear - every day, obviously (twice if I have a second shower in the evening)
    Shirts/t-shirts - every day
Jumpers, hoodies, etc - every second day
    Jeans - every second day

Don't really wear clothes so to speak, I'm either in uniform, motorcycle leathers or chilling at home in sweatshirt/sweatpants & crocs.

Uniform gets dry cleaned weekly, prefer to go commando so jocks not an issue & change my t-shirt/sweatshirt every other day & socks daily.

I know, right? I'd change them every day, but I don't own enough pairs.

What do you mean you change your jackets every 14 days?

If I'm doing exercise, underwear and socks are changed twice. But only because sweaty underwear is uncomfortable as f*ck.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,812 ✭✭✭✭sbsquarepants

Socks every day, jocks I don't wear, top (usually a t shirt) every day, jeans in work I'd get a week out of a pair (in and out of a dirty factory and yard all day so kinda pointless wearing my sunday best) at home I'd get a day or two - kids are a lot messier than the factory!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,400 ✭✭✭Medusa22

    Socks, underwear, and t-shirts/tops everyday
Cardigans/jumpers and tights/leggings I might wear more than once but it depends.
Pjs I wear to bed twice
Bras I wash every couple of weeks because I have loads of them and I alternate and it's the same with jeans/skirts
Oh I usually shower once a day (more if I exercise) and wash my hair every second day

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,449 ✭✭✭✭Vicxas

    Undies - Every 2 days
    Socks - 2 days usually
    T-shirts are 2 days
Jeans - Just before they become sentient
Hoodies - Usually when they get dirty/smelly

Undies, bras, socks and/or tights - every day.
    Twice if I'm exercising.

Tops and dresses I might wear twice, jeans maybe 3 days before they go in the wash.

    Socks and jocks daily.

    T-shirts - depends, usually 2 to 3 'wears'

I may change stuff more frequently than daily if I'm travelling - only because fresh socks and jocks can feel great when you're feeling a bit 'travel-worn' and need to re-energise.

I have some really nice pairs of jeans that I never wash / launder - I occasionally freeze them when they need cleaning.

I normally change everything, every day. But then I'm a messy pup and it's rare that I make it through the day without spilling tea on myself at some stage :(

    Underwear - daily
    Socks - daily
    T shirts - almost daily
Jeans - meh, i have quite a few pairs so unless they're badly stained they don't get washed
    Shirts - after one wear
Trousers - Never? Unless part of suit getting dry cleaned
Suits - I have 3/4 suits. Get dry cleaned as and when required
Trainers - regularly throw them in the washing machine if they get too grubby. Have two pairs at the min, Nikes that are about 4 year old and another pair at about 6 month old.

Husband and wife go to the doctor to consult about husbands loss of hearing.

DOCTOR : I'm going to need a urine, faeces and semen sample.

    HUSBAND : Pardon?

WIFE : Just give him your underpants honey.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,962 ✭✭✭r93kaey5p2izun

Socks and knickers daily. Tops changed daily in warm weather but may get two wears in colder weather. Jeans, cardigans, jumpers and bras usually get three or four wears. Coats are only washed once a year unless they get visibly dirty.

It's not good for the skin to be showering that frequently.

What did people do before showers became a common fixture in every home. Run a bath every morning or what? :D

underwear and sicks as often as i shower so once a day and if sports involved, twice but I also have an old jersey and shorts that I use for lounging around the house so they tend to get thrown on in the evening if I am staying in
