Downloading Files from Onedrive (not as a link)

Looking to download files from Onedrive but every time I use the download option on the site, it seems to just create an internet link on the hard drive as opposed to creating a physical file that I can access offline...anyway to get around this?? Thanks...

I'm a bit late to this party but have you tried the OneDrive app. You can download it to your computer and it sync all files down. Very handy.
