This song, from one of my all-time favourite artists perfectly defines a friend whose love carried me through my crucial teen years.

Ah, so so many. Too many.
First one that springs to mind is this one though.
It's my OH's favourite song and we played it a lot in the early months of getting to know each other and falling in love.
We used to dance around my room to it like a pair of eejits :)

Angels by Robbie Williams brings me right back to a specific difficult point in my teen years. I always loved the song, and then it became a reminder. So I try not to listen to it too much so that it keeps being a bit special. Even if it's in a sad kind of way.

This version of Look Mummy (No Hands) by Camille O'Sullivan is one song that cuts right through me. It captures the heartache of loss so perfectly. Too perfectly, maybe. I find it deeply affecting.

Iv applied this song to so many situations, people and decisions in my life. I spend a lot of my life by the sea, it's the most consistent beautiful uncontrollable thing around.

    This....

It reminds me of happy times, sad times, people that have been in my life, people that are currently in my life.

Enya has been a soothing influence... for many years... especially at night when comfort or rest can't be found... as have these songs:

Don't Let Your Mind Get Weary

and I can't locate a vid for the song with these lyrics: "child, things are gonna get easier...oooh child, things'll get brighter" (I hum that when I get stressed.

I walked down the aisle to Into Your Arms.
Currently pregnant with first, and his song is May You Never (also featured in our wedding ceremony).

These two songs mean the world to me, as they represent the two most important things in my life - my husband and my (yet to appear) baby.

I realise that this may sound like I'm paranoid and I get that. I really do, and I apologise and all that jazz. Because this is out there.

The song "Wake me up" by Avicii is following me.

    There. I said it.

    A few examples:
    - When I started to run, it was the first song that I managed to run for the entire length of the song
    - When I had my viva and I was just sitting alone in a world of my own in an old man pub, this was the first song that came on the radio
    - It was playing on my phone when I read an email from my now boss inviting me to interview for my current position
    - It was playing on the radio when I turned the engine on in my car after a hospital appointment where I was actually on the way to be offered my current job
    - It came on shuffle on my phone as the first song to play when I was sitting on the airplane flying home after my aunt died

    (There are lots more examples)

I love the song. I particularly love acoustic versions of it. And there's a version knocking about of a childrens choir doing it and I just melt when I hear it.

Other songs that have meaning for me:
    - Say it to me now (Glen Hansard)
    - Demons (Imagine Dragons)
    - Here I go again (Whitesnake)
    - The Reason (Hoobastank)
    - Summer of 69 (Bryan Adams)
    - Dog days are over (Florence and the Machine)
    - Everybodys Free (to wear sunscreen)
    - Groovy Kind of Love (Phil Collins)

At the moment, Kodaline's One Day is really resonating with me.
