Principle and teacher decide to keep my child isolated from others during lunchtime

    My child has some difficulty with sensory issues, personal space, unstructured times (lunchtimes) and if a child pushes or pinches them they will do it back but a lot harder, the thing is they generally do not start anything, normally my child is caught retaliating.
    As parents we have done everything to help our child along, some years a teacher is understanding and some not.
    This year our child was allocated a SNA for lunchtime and out of class activities.
    We have also paid a Child Phy to ascess our child and get a report to help the school.
    Last week the teacher and principle decided to keep our child in (the hall) at lunchtime for two weeks without any discussion with us, and there was no major incidents lately, the Child Phy hasn't even given in the report yet either.
    I'm at a loss as what to do, we're very upset and so is our child.
    The thing is that a SNA was provided to help with any issues in the yard and to encourage a better interaction if something happens..so out child can learn, how can isolation be the right thing????

    I would make an appointment to talk to the teacher to find out why.

    That'll be the first thing I do, but I really am worried about the action the teacher and principle have decided to take, it appears to be a action that will only cause more stress and difficulties for my child.

    Is the SNA shared?How do you know for sure there haven't been incidents?
    Is there someone supervising the child?

    As already said, make an appt to meet with the principal. And I'd be asking all the above.
