To steal ComfortKid's line from the main thread it's that time of year again...

Essentially it's the same as last year. Teams to consist of seven players - one each from groups A+,A,B,C and D and two from group E below. You can select a captain who will score double points in each match he plays but beware ... minus points will also be doubled ! The captain cannot be changed and cannot be from groups A+, A or B (top 16 seeds). If no valid captain is selected the spot will default to your group C choice.

Scoring will be by leg difference with a 5 points bonus for a match win. 180 = 1 bonus point.
e.g. a 3-1 win (3-0,0-3,3-2,3-2) with 1x180 = 8pts (2pts legs +5pts win bonus + 1pt 180). The same 3-1 loss with 1x 180 = -1pt (-2pts legs + 1pt 180)
A 9 dart finish will earn an additional 20 points for your player.

I'm discarding the prelim group this year - mostly to keep it simple - but I cant ignore a couple of the guys in that group. The gentleman and local legend that is Mick McGowan and the more global legend that is Paul Lim (yeah, I'm that old!!). So we're going to start the bonus points right away. When you submit your team please also select either Paul or Mick as your bonus for the prelim round. Best average of the two will win you 20 points.

Round One (proper) bonus is again worth 20 points and all you need do to earn that is name the player who hits the highest checkout in the round. They don't have to be in your team but if no selection is made it defaults to your group A+ player. It's that easy

This makes sense alright, you'd be crazy not to go for one of them. Maybe make a group for them called A1?

Keep that to PM lads - not my business what you do there.

FYI starting with round 2 there'll be 2x 20pts bonus on offer each round up to and including semis. 1x 20pt in final. The aim is to make this a bit of fun and to give guys a chance to catch up even if early rounds go bad for them. No gimmes though - just a 'needle in a haystack' in each round like highest checkout, lowest average, etc...

Approaching halfway through the first round so here's a temp leaderboard. Last year's champ Kingp35 leads the way with 80 points but has only two players yet to play in round one and is out of the running for the checkout bonus. A long way to go yet with with some lads having five players still to play their first match. A solid start though by forum newcomer martyos121 - and KevIRL has abandoned last year's strategy of starting off sh1te so we might have a couple of contenders there ... time will tell!
