Also, the original "Miracle on 34th Street", not the copious amounts of remakes that came after it!

Oh - Willy Wonka, the original, not that shyte with Johnny Depp!

"I can't believe you didn't include xxxx!?!?!! It's the best Xmas movie ever!!!"
The usual classics, Die Hard, Grenlins, Scrooged, It's a Wonderful Life. Also love The Nightmare before Christmas. And though not a Christmas film you have to watch an Indiana Jones over the season.

    I didn't forget it, 25 options max plus I included a "I can't believe it's not there!!" option just for you ;)

Miracle On 34th Street is in the poll. :)

OP, I could kiss you for not including the crappy 'Love Actually'. Hell is filled with Richard Curtis films (except Bridget Jones's Diary).

Elf, Bad Santa, Home Alone and Die Hard off the top of my head. Not mad keen on 'It's a Wonderful Life' even though I know it's a classic.

Thanks ......... but ........ it's only not included because I used up my 25 max options ......... we (myself & wife) watch it every year.
I actually don't like it though, it's for the wife!! ;)

How does a poll on Christmas films not include It's a Wonderful a Life and Planes Trains and Automobiles?

My favourite is Black Christmas, the original...but it's not for everyone.

Maybe you should have dropped How the Grinch Stole the Kranks or whatever and gone for the classics and obvious ones.

It's like a Greatest Film about the Mafia poll excluding the Godfathers. It just makes it...senseless.

    It's good, if very simplistic.

But doubt anyone anywhere would seriously rate it behind the Grinch or Polar Express stuff.

I couldn't drop those movies, all 5 of us in my family had 5 movies to pick (actually I picked 4 and left the blank 25th one open for suggestion) ......... it's not that serious a poll/thread/discussion anyway Conor. :)

    Family Meeting

Me: "Anybody want to include It's A Wonderful Life"?

My 9yr old son: "We're not watching that sh*te again this year dad! Put on the Elf!!"

    Rest of the family cheers!

Me: "Go to your room for using bad language .......... and by the way, you're right!"

'It's a Wonderful Life' isn't the Godfather of Christmas films. It should be on the list, sure, and I know it's influential and blah de blah but it's overrated. I'd, for example, put Home Alone streets ahead of it.

I like to watch the Wizard Oz at Xmas, OP, but it's not really Christmassy.

It definitely should be up there,it's one of my favourites too watch at Xmas. It's on Netflix now so I'll be giving it a watch again this weekend.I've not saw the sequel that WWE decided too make and might as well, but knowing the movies that WWE,churn out, like most of them I'll probably switch it off after 20 minutes.

It's still not going to help your poll of you don't have what's commonly regarded as the best Christmas movie of all time. Also any version of a Christmas Carol would be better than most of these (and the 2009 one is one of the worst).

    Edit:

You do have Scrooge (1970) and Scrooged. So points for that. Muppets are missing though :-(
