Win 8.1: Two login accounts?

Around the time I installed Win 10 on one of my PCs, my other PC started acting strangely. I usually set my PCs to log in automatically, but the Win 8.1 is now having trouble with that process. It tells me my password is wrong every time. However, on the log in screen, there are 2 key symbols and when I click on the second one and type in my windows live account and password, I get in.

if I look at my user accounts in control panel, I see only 1 (and a disabled guest), so why do I have 2 key symbols on the login screen and how do I get Win 8.1 to use my live account by default?

It could be a coincidence, of course that this started happening around the time of the Win 10 upgrade on my other PC, so that's just for further info in case it's relevant.
