Package in customs

Hi, I recently ordered a package from the US. Since then, it has passed through America by USPS and it arrived in Cologne, Germany yesterday morning. Yesterday evening, my tracking statement said that it had arrived in Ireland and it had passed through the sort facility and is now in customs clearance.
Does anyone know how long a package from the US would generally spend in customs?. The item cost me just over €100 so I am not sure if that classifies it as 'high value'.
How long should it be before I receive my package and should it come by post or courier?
    Any info appreciated, cheers.

It is high value and you'll get told to pay the fee for it from An Post most likely with in a week or two to release it.

Any idea how much this fee will be?

On the top of my head around 7 EUR and probably another 20ish for customs on top but the sticky can probably give you more precise guidance :)
