Louis van Gaal has confirmed that Anthony Martial, Michael Carrick, Marouane Fellaini and Antonio Valencia will miss out through injury this weekend. Wayne Rooney is also unavailable for the trip to Watford due to illness, though Van Gaal is optimistic that both his captain and Martial could be fit for the midweek clash with PSV. Van Gaal also revealed that James Wilson is available after injury but cannot play the full 90 minutes due to a lack of match rhythm.

    Depay up front?

Really fancy our (Watford's) chances with the news coming out of United. We've been very solid at the back all season bar the 20 minutes collapse at home to Arsenal.

I'd be happy with the draw but won't have a much better chance of beating a top 4 team this season. 1-0/1-1 I think it will be.

Watford don't concede much at home, think it'll be a tight game,

    Under 2.5 anyway.

0-0 half time and Watford to try drag out a draw.

0-1. United are awful, no goal threat, so it'll be a smash and grab.

How many awful teams haven't conceded a goal in 5 games?

Also going to be different attackers than normal so we'll see.

    Scoreless draw.

If this happens, United will go top.

    Yeah, awful.

Not awful,no. Just the most boring team I've seen for many a year.

Even with the injuries I still believe we will win the possession

To be perfectly honest, pace isn't the thing that United need today. They need the trickery of Mata, Depay and Lingard more than the pace. Once United gain reasonable possession of the ball, Watford will drop very deep and create two solid banks of four with Deeney dropping back onto the last midfielder (Assuming Schneiderlin or Schweinsteiger).

I think Deeney and Ighalo could get us a goal, but obviously it's stopping the other end which is the big issue today.

Liverpool have 1 more league goal today than United had at the end of September.

    It can't be that boring???

A few recent scoreless draws have really skewed the thinking of some people I guess.

That said I might watch for a while today because I'm at a bit of a loose end.

So you don't watch but it's boring. Okay

What has it got to do with Liverpool?

As a livepool fan with actual no other opinion other then hating United why do you go into the following threads to post

    Watford v United
    West Brom V United
Arsenal V United in the last month

    Im actually interested

At least Niallo makes an effort but why do you do it?

I was just using Liverpool as a comparison. United are considered boring by 13 goals in 12 games Liverpool fans.

I'd rather be scoring with the few shots we have than taking potshots all game in the hope of scoring.

Keeping an eye on me,are you?

Can't fully remember but I think you'll find I usually just post a score prediction early enough in the morning and don't bother with ye after that so it's not like I'm in here winding ye up if that's what you're getting at.

Up to you, You seem to have a keen interest in United nearly all match days. Why break the trend

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,519 ✭✭✭Flint Fredstone

    Why?

I'm just wondering when you stopped watching because United were boring. They have only become really boring since quite recently.

Saw 4 games near the start of the season and they were very boring. If they've gotten more boring then the mind boggles.

Look,if I upset some of ye with my 'boring' remarks then I'm sorry. It's just the way I feel. I wont bother ye any more.

I still hope Watford beat ye though :P

Not upset at all. Judging a team on the opening few games isn't exactly a good indicator of anything, especially when you consider the changes in the squad.

United improved a lot after that, culminating in topping the table for a time and scoring plenty of goals. The last few games has seen another dry spell but people only remember those it seems.

    Team seems to be

    De Gea
Young---Smalling----Jones----Blind Possible Jones is rb, young lb and blind in centre maybe?
    Schneiderlin---Schwein
    Mata
    Herrera
    Lingard---
    Memphis

FFS Young and Blind playing right and left back when Darmian and Rojo are on the bench.

Hopefully it's an intent to take the game to Watford and going all out attack :)

    I know right.

It's almost as if they have played better in those positions.

Rojo had a long trip from the internationals, seems right to rest him for the PSV game.

I dunno, I'd still prefer Darmian in there myself. Rojo playing miles away makes his disclusion (if that's even a word) understandable though I guess.

Darmien hasn't been street than young or Valencia in the last few games.

It marginal actually now that I think of it. Either option is just as good

Darmian was suspended the last game. Had that bad day against Arsenal but overall is a far better RB than either of them.

    Forgot he was suspended.

Ya he is a better rb, just not playing better than young who deserves his spot.
Young is better at attacking so is better suited to this game.

I agree. He's had a great start IMO. Think the Arsenal game was the only real blip to be fair to him
