I've been asked to connect up a friends TV and BB with a ESI-02N splitter

    There's 2 outputs - 1 says 3.6 db and the other 4.0 db

Does it matter which output you use for TV and BB?

    Thanks

I'd connect the modem to the 3.6dB and the TV to the 4.0dB.

The number says how much signal is lost as a result of passing through the splitter. I believe signal loss can cause internet to drop, whereas for TV it'd only make the picture marginally worse - that amount shouldn't have any effect on either but still best to have the internet on the lower loss output as the signal loss would have a more obvious effect on the internet.
