Hi I have just moved into a new house and would like to get tv channels without getting sky etc. totally clueless as haven't had a tv for 8 years now. The house has a satellite dish from the previous tenants but no aerials on the roof. Is it possible for me to cheaply get basic tv channels, not worried about recording etc.

Yes, if you buy a cheap combo box you will be able to get the basic UK and Irish TV channels.

You will need an aerial to receive the Irish channels. The UK channels you will receive include all the BBCs, ITV, the Channel 4 channels and the Channel 5 channels. There is also a number of other channels (some better than others).
