According to the Islam forum yesterday there are no such thing as Wahabbists, rather they are Salafi

I read that entire article, and thought it was superb, tbh it's too long for most on here to read.

In a nutshell what it says is that ISIS are reverting to the times of Mohammed, taking his teachings literally and applying them.

They offer the closest we will ever get to time travel: back to the 7th century and they want you converted or dead.

    Actually they don't

THey treat the likes of the Yazidi (Ithink) as infidels, but if you are of another non Muslim religion, you can pay a tax to live your life as normal.

ISIS is the International Secret Intelligence Service and I guess they want sexbots and stuff.

In no world is living with isis normal

Though it did offer a way to beat them...just contain them and prevent expansion

And a very good insight why people would join/choose to live under them.....free clothes/food etc vs being treated with suspicion and poor etc in the west??

Though remains to be seen how much is true etc

Did you actually spend the half hour that reading the linked article took, to entitle you to have an opinion?

    Your response suggests not.

That varies. The tax can be impossibly high.

They want to complete Mohammeds plan, using Mohammeds methods.

    Simple as that.

And they do kill Yazidis: a mass grave reported on another thread. You wouldn't want to confuse IS with the Revenue.

On that map...........Mongolia, where the last stand will be made, lol

Reminds me how in World War Z, after the 10 year war, a city in Tibet becomes the populated city on the planet.

They don't levy water charges either.

This is the best explanation I've seen by a mile. It's a longish read, so make the tea first. It also assumes some slight knowledge of the difference between Sunni, Shia, and Wahabist Muslims, and where they live.
    Enjoy.

Why lump us in with the other "attack and polarise" and leave Portugal out but include Spain in the group?

I would have assumed the rest of the world would be in the "attack and polarise" group, why are some countries exempt?

Also, will read the article in the OP at lunch time.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,400 ✭✭✭Medusa22

Thanks for that article OP, I found it very interesting and although I can't fully comprehend why anyone would want to join ISIS, I am beginning to understand how they do manage to draw muslims from western countries who are disaffected.

That map amused me though, why is Mongolia exempt? And Eastern Europe (sorry, ''central Europe'' :P) looks pretty good too, good job I'm off to Krakow then in December, they don't seem to have any interest in Poland :pac:
