2 external monitors, same model, difference colour/resolution

I have 2 Dell U2414H monitors and a SP3 docking station. The first monitor bought last month, connected via DP to MDP on the docking station. Second monitor arrived last week, same connections - DP to MDP on the SP3. The second monitor has a more dulled colour scheme and when I move the cursor between the extended displays, the cursor enters the second monitor about 3 inches higher on the screen which suggests a difference resolution. I've rearranged cables, check the settings on both monitors and the display settings in Windows 10 and all are the same. Does anyone know what the issue could be?

Obvious test here is to try both monitors on both ports.

What happens if you set the screens to duplicate rather than extend?

Check in the display settings that the two screens are aligned correctly? You can offset them, maybe that's the problem? Example here shows two different size monitors but you can offset with two displays with the same resolution.

Have tried all of the above and there's a distinct difference in picture quality. They've agreed to replace so I'll just exchange the monitor.
