I don't mind, cos it's a damn good fight so far.

True! Very entertaining scrap, Dodd giving it a real go.

Fair play to Dodd here, boxing well.

    This is brilliant.

Right now, Dodd is looking the better. Very composed, as opposed to Cardle who just whales away with not much though.

Dodd is even money in play. Looks a good bet but he could get robbed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 57,363 ✭✭✭✭walshb

    Cardle will see this out!

    Holy ****! Amazing action.

    Dodd landed some monsters there.

    Looked bigger than they were.

Well he's not a huge puncher but at this stage of the fight they looked hurtful punches.

    True.

    Big shot landed from Cardle!

Devastated that we didn't see the final bell.

    Why no count?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 57,363 ✭✭✭✭walshb

Holy god. Dodd was hurt, very tired.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,430 ✭✭✭megadodge

I think he should have given him a count. In all fairness it was the last round and he possibly was ahead.

Dodd was a bit too groggy. Ref saw that.

    Cardle missed with some whoppers.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

    Rematch surely! :D

I think the ref called it a bit too early, give him a count, look at him and then call it off if he thinks he can't continue. He did what he thought was best though so I guess he was just doing his job.

Ricky Burns up next, always bores me to death.

His fight against Figueroa was an absolute cracker.

Apparently Burns is a gym rat. Am I the only one who thinks he looks anything but? In this fight or any other?

He has always had a fantastic engine. Never has any problems doing the distance.

Not sure where you're coming from.

It was non stop, but he, as always, is awful to watch

Are Smith and Fielding on after this?

Burns looks 2 weights bigger than King

There's the Dublin bill on Boxnation right now if you want to switch over.

    This is awful to watch.

Can the promoter not reduce this mess to a 6 rounder?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 100 ✭✭android1

He has been in the best condition for every one of his World Title defences yet he was gassed in two of those. I don't see the evidence of Ricky been a gym rat. Surely a gym rat would at least look ripped and fight well?

Looking like a gym rat and being a gym rat can differ. Body physique and makeup can be deceiving.

He never looks like he has plenty in the tank, fitness wise. Maybe someone should question all this time in the gym.

    Which two were they?

Michael Conlan is the guest analyst on Boxnation and is very impressive.
Easy fluidity to his speech and very knowledgable.
    Nice to see the acknowledgment.

Would like to see Rocky pull off the upset.

I think Rocky may win the first 2 or 3 rounds before Smith gets into it. I expect Smith then to just be that little better and precise, with his bodypunching to make a big difference in the later rounds.

    Probably be KO1 now!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

    All over.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 57,363 ✭✭✭✭walshb

    Hagler-Hearns.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 406 ✭✭DylanAFC

    That was impressive

    Jesus that was hugely impressive.

That's the difference between a genuinely world class prospect and a good domestic fighter.

Smith looked much more physically imposing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,505 ✭✭✭but1er

The second knockdown was pure class - single counter left hook as Rocky was piling in.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Disgraceful from your man Doran there, weighing in half a stone over? Joke.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 189 ✭✭Kaiser84

Fielding was just in with a much better man, although I think the occasion got to him too. He looked very nervous.

Callum is the star of all the Smith brothers. He looks special.
