    Tbh after looking at that tackle for the sending off again there is no real contact at all. Mert was stupid to jump into the tackle but that cheating ***** Costa dived!

    So maybe in future (when playing Chelsea) we should figure we'll have a man sent off and ensure that at least its for something substantial!

    Yep. Someone should absolutely lift him out of it, and take the red, but put him out too.

    Unfortunately the entire sport has really just become a big bitchfest in the past decade or so. Players, managers, fans of different clubs bitching at each other, fans of the same club butching at each other/their players/their manager etc.

    But Costa can f*** off.

    Costa showed guts and desire for his club and it's hard to knock that. he doesn't stand back or hide. I don't like him either but you can't knock that desire.

    Genuinely thought we'd get thumped by Arsenal today.
    Massive win for Chelsea today, keeps the relegation wolves from the door for another week!

    You thoroughly deserved the win too.
    The team that shows the more desire usually wins the spoils.
    We didn't play until Sanchez came on and tried his best.

    Yep. He puts himself about. He more than any other Chelsea was responsible for taking 6 points from us this season. I don't like how he acts but he gets results and doesn't shirk his responsibilities.

    On a rare occasion Tayto I must disagree with you here. Costa is a despicable scrote. His effort wasn't so apparent until he got Mourinho sacked. He came back from the summer break a good stone overweight. He is a cheat and a low life

    I son't like him either as I said BUT he was the major player when they took 6 points from us.

    I wonder why he's getting all the attention so and someone keeps accrediting him with goals for some reason.

    Hate this ****e
    Before the season starts I pay £3,008 for 2 season tickets plus I take 2 memberships out (no tickets used on those this year). I go to about 5 away games and have booked my flight and ticket through the club for Barca.
    I always buy a programme and at least 1 drink before the game and 1 during half time. Plus countless gunnasaurus ****e for my 1 year old.

    So forgive me if I am going to complain about:
    A manager who refuses to spend cash on areas of the team that needs reinforcing;
    That continues to be loyal to players that are past it or frankly are not up to it;
    That makes ludicrous decisions like taking Giroud off (in form, can hold up the ball, would give an alternative to tippy tappy ****e) and leaves Walcott on;
    That persists in playing Flamini who seemed to think he was a ****ing striker today;
    A club that charges more for a season ticket thanks to a greedy ****ing board and rips off the fans with their dividends;
    A manager too ****ing stubborn to recognise his faults and move on;
    And a bunch of gob****es on here who believe that you can't ever criticise the club.

    The boos rang out around the ground at wenger's substitution. This is the worst epl in history and a decent team would be 15 points clear.

    Injuries are not to blame for our ****e position. And that is what it is.

    The team were applauded off today for their effort. Wenger was booed off. But stick to fawning over him. I support Arsenal not Wenger. The sooner he ****s off, the better and that is the locals view.

    So I'm sick of you and your ilks ****e.

    Seriously think Flamini has no business being in this squad, he hasn't been good enough since he came back from AC bar a decent few weeks in 2013. Elneny has to be a better option than him regardless of his experience at the top level.

    Aww boo hoo

    I pay 2 grand plus every year to go see the team and I only get too see them 5/6 times and I'm sure there is plenty fans on here who pay the same. Your in a privileged position so that crap don't wash with me

    Wenger explain his decision re giroud, he want pace to play on the counter. I have no problem with the manager making that decision

    On one hand you say done blame the injuries for this season but on the other you say he sticks with flamini

    There was no one else to play the last 5/6 weeks because of injures and there is no way you you play the new joy in his debut in a game like yesterday

    As for the rest of your bile it's just a shame a season ticket is wasted on a fan with such a **** attitude

    I don't understand why some of you get so snippety and irate over this? Losing is a part of football. Everyone loses games and the expectation to win every game is a fantasy.

    Chelsea beat Arsenal. Okay, but ultimately Arsenal are still in the title race and Chelsea will likely finish mid table. Armageddon this is not.

    Calm down.

    Yeah I know, but I think a lot of it is down to not winning the league since 2004 and the stereotypical Arsenal are bottlers in Jan/Feb etc. Always finishing 4th that is touted by rival fans.
    In fairness ya just have to look at the Chelsea, Liverpool and Man Utd threads and ya see worse meltdowns than this thread.

    I was livid last night after the game, but have calmed down now. A few wins on the trot and all will look good again. :)

    It's not a melt down anyway.
    It's people speaking the truth about the team not being prepared properly and having a manager who obviously doesn't tear into them when they continue to do the same things that cost us time and time again.
    The high line for example. We concede anytime we see that high line against a good counter-attacking team when Mert is playing. Yet Wenger still persists with it.
    Our defence has been a nervous wreck all season. Did you see the pinball with Mert and Kos early yesterday? Did Monrael join the squad of "turn your back to the ball in case you get hurt" yesterday for the goal? I missed it but heard the commentators saying it.
    We were playing at home but kept surrendering the ball to Chelsea and not pressing them. I can't remember anyone putting in a tackle for the first 25 minutes.

    Again it's not losing that annoys me, it's how you lose. That game was lost early. I won't even mention the captain's armband debacle but it should have been put around someone's neck and twisted.

    This isn't a melt down. If we had been trashed by 3 goals or more then it would have gone 3 mile island in here :)

    The players who stayed on did very well to hold their own and if those opportunities had fallen to someone more clinical than Flamini we would have been lauding them for salvaging a draw.

    However this kind of thing has happened too many times with teams Wenger puts out and it frustrates me loads that Wenger doesn't seem to learn from his mistakes.

    The reaction is important we need a good result on Saturday and more importantly we have to win against Southampton Tuesday week.

    Its hardly a meltdown when you get frustrated at losing to the same teams in the same way, consistently. We havent even scored against that lot in 3 seasons. Thats nothing to do with the quality of the team, its purely a mental issue. I think loyal fans (or any fans for that matter) have a right to raise that.

    As has been pointed out, this season more than any is our best opportunity to win the league. Can any fan say that they think we are going all out to take that opportunity? I dont think we are. Yes, we have injuries. So then its up to the manager to strengthen the team to pre-empt this. I think he's failed in that regard. Players that are clearly not performing are still in the team - because in many cases we just dont have an option.

    If we dont win the league this year I look forward to hearing from those that find it hard to criticise the manager.

    Ramsey did his usual headless chicken performance yesterday. In his head he is Zidane, when in reality he is more Kilbane

    It is totally a mental issue, the players and Wengers. Our squad is a lot stronger than it has been in a while and we have a number of injured players coming back at the right time for once.

    I can't believe that Wenger or Bould weren't getting the players to use Costa's volatility against him? Is it just me or does the management want us to be the nice guys of football so much that they aren't prepared to do some "dirty deeds" every now and then.

    Again agree with you totally here, I don't believe the team has done everything they are capable of so far this season. Our main rivals City have been effected badly by injuries as well.
    If we dont win the league this year I look forward to hearing from those that find it hard to criticise the manager.

    Six points alone against a team that even the most ardent Chelsea fans are saying is dreadful is proof enough.

    That said we are still in striking distance and the eternal optimist in my that makes me a football fan is still hoping to collect my winnings from Paddy Power at the end of the season :D

    Anyone else concerned about Kos at the moment? Finally brought myself to watch the sending off again and it looked like Kos was playing Costa onside and was considerably deeper than Mert.
    Link

    It's also debatable whether or not Kos was responsible for the goal as he was marking Costa for the initial cross but then walked away from him and despite looking back over his shoulder at him 2/3 times decided not to pick him up.
    Link

    And finally his stupid body check on Fabergas in the box that should have been a penalty.
    Link

    Maybe I'm being too harsh but the body check at least was utterly stupid and unnecessary, given that was had some hope at 1-0 down but giving away a penalty and having another player sent off would have eliminated any even remote chance of getting back in the game and would have cost us over the next few games too.

    Lets hope mini mid-season blip is over and we can get back on track.
    Plenty has been said.
    Nice to see posters are allowed voice their frustration and criticise the team, manager and players without everyone geting their knickers in a twist and rolling out some stats,CL qualifying record or balance sheet bollix.

    Seems the fans are united in one thing now, lets quit fking about and lets go and win this league, its their for the taking. Now all we need is the squad and manager to get their **** together on a consistent basis.

    If we are not going to play Walcott up front its time to cash in on him. He is absolutely woeful out wide. Usain Bolt would have the same impact as him. First touch is awful and his best dribbling skills comes from his mouth. No vision either. He was pathetic yesterday and has been for some while.

    Has been atrocious since coming back. Had high hopes for him, just seems to be going through the motions now.
