Sony recently announced the release of it's first laser pico-projector in the US and Asia. It's called the 'MP-CL1' (or MPCL1).

Sony Korea published this advert on YouTube today...

You can wirelessly connect it to your smartphone or computer and have a laser crisp 120 inch screen on your wall/ceiling. It's portable (the same size as your phone) and is auto-focus.

Someday i'm sure we'll see these pico-projectors embedded in our phones. Apple has many such patents but no announcements yet. Chinese smartphone manufacturer Lenovo posted a very interesting video of their upcoming 'smartcast' projector phone a few months ago.

No European release dates yet because of concerns of the laser class being potentially too dangerous if stared into (E.U. bureaucracy).

The specs and graphics can be seen here below...

I'm interested to see how the product sells in Asia as it is a good testing ground for high tech gadgets, and a good predictor for how it will sell in the west.
