At least this is a good discussion. This issue needs to be aired. the state has neglected this area completely tbh

Ah ffs joe.. this is getting silly now.

So the synopsis of the show is junkies are great fellas all together because their mum says it on joe duffy.

There never seems to be any question of personal responsibility by addicts. It's always someone else's fault!

Can imagine duffy coming home on xmas day and telling the missus to set an extra place at the table for some homeless junkie he found down in clontarf

    That'd be his brother!

Money doesn't always come in to it, plenty of celebs with mountains of cash became "unwell" with heroin.

Take a break, missus; Joe can't reach the nipple clamp drawer easily today, with that huge horn he's got.

Sorry as I am for Annette, how could any Government have prevented her son from his addiction?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,472 ✭✭✭jetfiremuck

Misery clusterfcuk....what can you say. Duffy needs to be more sensitive especially around Xmas. There will be enough river jumpers without broadcasting this on the airways........what's the point here. Ffsssss

Agreed. These days, if a cat gets stuck up a tree, someone is sure to say that it's all the fault of the government!

There's a severe lack of personal responsibility in the country these days. It always caused by someone else and we should all get dig outs and compensation and so on. I don't think Irish people have become harder, if anything we are far too soft. People in the early days of this state right up to the 1950s and 60s, they had it hard. Not us current crop.

There's also a homeless industry built up where you could with the same money give each homeless person in the countrhy €30k a year with the money that is being spent.

FFS, I'm agreeing with Joe here. They give examples of some crapness, then give an example of some goodness. But we're a crap society, not a good one. Does crapness have a higher weighting?

I carry cigarettes Joe, to get other people hooked on them.

Eh, loads of people are ending up homeless because they cannot afford accommodation. Not because they have mental health issues

They should bring those addicted so to speak in the schools to educate the youth of today in to what drugs can to do you.

She just said he was in rehab several times, so obviously there is something there. But the guy didn't seem to want help or admit to his problem.
