I think anyone familiar with my posts on this thread knows I don't suffer fools gladly and I can be a bit of a hatchet to Irelands entitled brigade.

But this guy just doesn't sound like he perversely, purposefully evaded tax in order to line his own pockets.

The guy is close to the brink. I have a heart. I can't help but feel sympathetic to him.

I'm sure he's going through a terrible time both personally and financially and he's put in place a plan to pay his dues.

Thanks. Wouldn't we all love to get interest like that. the present interest rate is less than 1% on deposits.

Nobody listening to this who has tax issues is going to be encouraged to make contact with the Revenue.

He was stupid but he tried to do the right thing (belatedly). He is paying back the Interest and Penalties and he doesn't deserve this trial by angry mob.
