Can anyone recommend a good gym in and around the above areas? Id be mostly strength training, not bothered about cardio machines. I did a search but cant find any recent threads

    Hi There,

    http://www.flyefit.ie/locations/view/swords_airside_retail_park

http://www.energiefitnessclubs.com/swords/ has a really annoying google streetview style 'gallery' of the gym. From what I can see it looks like it is full of cardio machines and sod-all weights

Apparently there is going to be a Flyefit up where Total Fatness used to be at Clare Hall.

There was a place in Baldoyle industrial estate called muscle factory, I don't know what it was like, but I did see they have the gym up for sale on Adverts.ie, so they're probably out of business.

There is a place called Body Transformation Studios that was in Baldoyle industrial estate, and is now in Clongriffin - it seems to be class based. So not sure if they offer the use of their gym.

http://fitnessbay.ie/ has a gym at Nessans School in Moyclare - no details of what equipment. Limited opening hours, again classes, but seem to offer ad-hoc gym use. Maybe give them a shout

They seem not to have a proper website but I think Image Gym in the Castle Shopping Centre is probably what you're looking for.

There's lots of smaller one room places in Airside too.

That Flye fit isn't happening now as far as I know. Would like to be wrong though!

Muscle factory in Baldoyle. Should be what you're after. Doesn't open early in the mornings though.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I called into flyfit today and while they have a lot of equipment it was uncomfortably busy, nearly every machine was taken, that would put me off. I had a quick drive around baldoyle ind estate but couldn't seem to find muscle factory, ill look again tomorrow

Muscle Factory is decent for strength training etc. Have a look on Facebook for the address.

Well no wonder I couldnt find Muscle Factory yesterday, looks like they have gone out of business, found the address and the owner happened to be outside and told me they closed down couple of weeks ago...... The hunt continues

Coolock Training unit isn't too far from Baldoyle. Again, you'll find it on Facebook. You could also have a look at Unique Physique in Kilbarrack. In Gannon park in Malahide there's Plantium it's a very good gym. That's a pity about muscle factory :(

Thought I saw the contents of it on Done Deal but didn't want to speculate here. Serious bit of kit at a great price for anyone interested!

The gym at pslc in Portmarnock got a recent facelift, and is pretty handy for strength training, and doesn't get too busy, even at peak times (you'll never be waiting for a power rack, for example).

There's also the gym at Gannon park, as mentioned above, and there's a gym at the grand hotel in Malahide, though I can't comment about it.
