Hey there. I'm a physics student in UCD and thinking of applying to quantitative finance. Can anyone say what kind of career prospects exist for this course? Anyone know anybody who took part and what they went on to do? Thanks!

Job as a quant in a retail/investment bank, working for trading companies using trading algorithms, data analyst for any IT/Social media companies etc. Loads of career opportunities.
Computational Finance course in UL is practically same course but half the price. Excellent course and you'll work hard for your grades.

Do you know anyone who did either of these courses? Which companies did they end up working for?

I did one of those courses.

Working for Meryl Lynch, Commerzbank, All Irish retail banks - AIB, BOI, Ulster Bank, Susquehanna, many Finance comps in IFSC, First Derivatives, FINCAD, Proprietary trading companies like Geneva, Pioneer. Opportunities are very strong to be honest-courses are tough and you will have to work hard.
