I noticed several older double deckers in service yesterday including a coach-seated example. How many are operated in Cork now, seems a lot

    As per http://irishtransport.yuku.com/topic/8919/Fleet-Allocation-as-of-12-August-2015#.Vj-zk-LieJ8

There are 38, 1 open topper and 3 on Park and Ride duty. More to follow in the new year.

Up until the mid-80s, there were approx 90 double-deckers based in Cork.

At that stage 120 in total between Cork, Limerick, Galway and Waterford.

BE are getting 12 new VWD's in January, some are already in stock. Cork are supposed to be getting 3 of these and they are the biggest deckers BE have ever ordered, allowing for at least 8 extra passengers on them. Also it may mean a reallocation of deckers from Galway and Broadstone as well so Cork may get a few more.

Once this gets a lick of paint, it's going back on Cork streets.
