What would you include in a perfect school math syllabus ?

    I'm guessing most maths courses in secondary schools here or abroad are truncated for various reasons . what good stuff is bring left out?

    The reason I ask is because I am working ahead with my son ,he is in 5th class but i am getting to the end of 8th grade (using US material). He tested as exceptional so I wanted to stretch him a bit. So I have 2 ways to go as I see it , plough ahead using standard material or try to go sideways in some way. With geometry for example looking at parts that are left off or looking into the history of how it developed?

    But to keep it more general what broadly would you do differently if you could write a curriculum for high achieving kids , more stuff earlier, more sideways material , introducing the applied side as soon as is reasonable.?
