Overnight low 9.6C, almost calm - sunny from mid-morning; afternoon high 16.2C (still about 3 degrees down on Halloween last year!)

Now calm, mainly clear and 9.6C. Lot of fireworks going off, dog ignores them...good doggie. :)

Above average; certainly not freakish - bit out of the ordinary...but not too much.

    Grange's summary for October 2015

    Relatively sunny, dry and cold.

Rainfall: First dry October in 5 years.
After a run of pretty wet Octobers since 2011, 2015 was overall quite drier than normal. Rainfall total of 37.6mm came to 48% of the LTA and was my driest October since 2007. Apart from the 5th/6th, I recorded a long dry spell from the 1st-20th with very little rainfall. The wettest days were the 5th, 24th, 27th and 30th with falls of more than 5mm on each of these days. The 27th recorded the most with 17.4mm which is my highest October daily fall since 2011. I recorded 9 wet days, my second lowest since October 2010.

Temperature: Cold overall but not exceptionally so.
Mean temperature for October 2015 was relatively cooler than normal with 9.8c, -0.3c below normal. The warm spell from the 26th-31st helped to bring the mean temperature near average overall. The maximum though of 18.6c was recorded on the 5th and was my highest for October since 2010. The minimum of -1.3c on the 12th was the lowest for October since 2012. October was generally a very unremarkable month for temperature wise.

Sunshine: Relatively sunny but not exceptionally so.
Sunshine total for October of 93 hours which comes to only 105% of the LTA and it was still nevertheless, my sunniest October since 2010 comparing with the dull ones of 2011-2013! Sunshine was evenly distributed throughout the month but the 1st and 12th were particularly sunny days. I recorded my sunniest day on the 1st with 10.3 hours, my second sunniest October day on record or since 2010. Again, like temperature, October was a very unremarkable month for sunshine.

Overall, not a pretty memorable month except for the dry spell.
