Has anyone seen the Betfair promotion for United vs Southampton? Looks a lot like the Bet365 bet 50 get 50. You need to bet up to 50 in-play on the match on a selection of odds 1/5 or higher. Then after the game you will receive up to a €50 free bet.

Never seen them do something like this before. Can someone clarify that there is no hidden catch here? Only difference to Bet365 is it has to be 1/5 or higher otherwise its a better offer imo, because the 50 free bet can be used on any match.

Anyone ever had their credit card blocked because they tried to deposit money into a betting account?

the fraud detection department of my bank decided to block mine after I tried to deposit 200€ into my Bwin account, they thought it was a fraud attempt... How suspicious indeed, it's not as if I've been betting regularly for 5+ years and depositing sums way higher than 200€... they didn't even notify me that there was a "fraud attempt"... I'm absolutely livid right now :mad:

I had my cc blocked 2x or so when in a casino and not doing too well at the black jack When contactign them and telling them it was indeed me making the withdrawels, they unblocked it
Also received a text once requesting me to call the bank when depositing 3x in 1 night when playing on line.

I guess they are extra careful with me as i had 2x the pleasure of seeing plane tickets being charged with my cc for trips i would not exactly make myself.

I've had that same pleasure as well :P But this is stupid, my bank statements are always full of transactions from Bwin, I really don't get why the fraud filter was triggered... must be because of an intern who doesn't know what he's doing :pac:

How do ye use the bet 365 offer btw.

I tend to go for over .5 goals and hope it comes in early so i get a free bet. If not i lay it off with an under .5 later in game

usually under 4 second half goals at short odds though the only time I didnt do that one thankfully was for the pool arse match,went with over 0.5 at 1/20

sometimes I'll stick a couple of euro on the opposite with another bookie although saying that I know a lad who would back under 3.5 2nd half goals and stick 3euro or so on over 3.5 to cover with 365 and he's never been stopped

I like that betfair offer but I don't get to do any of those sadly (arbing put paid to that)

Ok guys ye know what I meant. Didn't mean to say no risk at all as I know there is always risk when I'm not hedging. I normally back a 1/50 - 1/80 shot with bet365 for the free bet. I know in this case it is 1/5 or higher but still a small risk in order to secure a big free bet. I'm considering accepting that risk. There's also the fact that I will win €10 profit from my qualifying bet were it to come in.

I'm just looking to hear other opinions on the offer

Guys, am I reading attached correctly? If I put a €50 bet on United to win after kickoff, no matter what happens they will refund me with a €50 bet on another game ?

Is it that this bet will be restricted or something crap that will prob lose ?

I'm not often one for promotions, but was going to put €50 on the exchange, but trying to make sure I understand the terms of the offer before waiting and putting it on the sportsbook?! (PS I know the odds are better on the exchange but I'm happy with a 10% drop in gains if you get a refund if bet loses).
