I don't think it's that useless, I started it so I wouldn't, but I think it would be a little naive or arrogant to believe we won't eventually become extinct as a species!!

If anything kills us off I do not think it would be war or disease or the like. Because there is always some level of survivor after that.

My fear is something like Idiocracy - though I hate to give credence to a film that bad.

Such that our reliance on technology becomes so high that a sudden lack of it - in the film it was due to people getting too stupid to maintain it - but in reality it could be a really crazy solar flare or the like that knocks it all out - leaves us completely lost.

For me the question is not how will we end - but how - assuming a sudden and near complete loss of our species - can we plan to ensure the survivors - well - survive.
