    No.

And giving a penalty for off side when Scotland get the ball, and another just there leading to the try goes against the conspiracy theories.

3 points in it with 1.5 minutes to go

It's ok, Samoa are known for their long phase play, cautious manner in ball retention and not making mistakes, perfectly suited for 2 minutes left must have score.

    Gulp.

No. No bonus points so far, they'll be 6 behind Scotland and even drawing level wouldn't help them.

Will they? I thought Scotland couldn't get a win but to be honest I didn't really look into it too much.

So that ended in exactly the manner I expected. :(

I don't think there is any conspiracy. But the ref has been quite harsh on them (while bizarrely not carding them) this half.

Scotland have absolutely no hope of beating either Wales or Australia.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,363 ✭✭✭✭DDC1990

    Bollox anyway.

Samoa early mistake cost them the match.

That was great even if I'm not that delighted about the result.

Feel for Japan. They're a better team than Scotland but the fact they had to play them and South Africa in 4 days means they're knocked out.

    Wooooo! Ya Scotland!

That is as far as they go though.

A shame. One of the more interesting groups in the competition, hard not to feel bad for Japan though.

Hard luck Samoa 🇼🇸 and Japan 🇯🇵
Laidlaw knocked on the ball in the run up to his try IMHO

Strange there was no replay of that - thought it was a knock too.

I don't think he did, I did my own bit of TMOing.

It wasn't a knock on- seen the replay, rolled along the line

If Japan beat USA they will be first team to win 3/4 pool games and not progress to next round.
    Thats tough.

They dont indeed. They are rubbish as far as the real contenders go. In the second tier with Fiji, Italy, Samoa, Japan level. That was minnow level stuff despite the helter skelter 'excitement' for the supporters of both sides. Simply not at level of the big boys.

It's still three more games than I expected them to win.

Hogg and Laidlaw are goods players but hard to warm to
I will support Scotland vs either Wales or Australia but they havn't a hope in hell

    Yeah, feel for Japan

Samoa's handling errors were a key thing in that second half.
The coaching staff for Samoa should be sacked.
Some crazy attempts to keep the ball alive at time.
Also some terrible grubber kicks as well.
The coaching staff could have simplified the game plan a bit to cut down on handling errors. especially in the second half.
