Is there any advantage to entering under the Vet category? Like a 4 lap head start?

I've already done that last year. It was very educating to cycle alone on my first race :)

Ahh in fairness if the lap is short enough it can be an education to see how the fastest lads take lines into corners and their sheer speed as they lap you. There is always a silver lining.

their sheer speed as they lap you

    That whooshing sound.... ;)

Lads, are mountain bikes allowed in the B race ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,460 ✭✭✭lennymc

yes, and this one would be a reasonably mud free introduction, and wouldn't have the same hills etc. as some of the other courses so the extra weight of the MTB shouldn't be an issue.

Haha, I'm in a similar boat. Waiting for the bike to be delivered this week! I'll be out on it every day for a week to get ready for this race

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,520 ✭✭✭Alek

No worries guys, it is actually permitted to run the whole course. Shoes and pedals will do.

And you can bunnyhop the barriers with style!

Developments from earlier this morning will render that impossible. At least for this race!

I'm gonna wear a T-shirt that says "Jan and Klodi's Party Bus - part II"

I'll be sure to print it on the back so you can see it as I pass you.

40 on the front, 11-32 11speed on the back. Seems to be perfect. Was out on it again this afternoon on some trails and didn't have to shift much anyway.
