He can't reject a motion to the ICU AGM either, but that hasn't stopped him. :)

Anyways, above seems quite reasonable; cheers.

Agree it would be better if it didn't come to it of course.

Just to note, he didn't reject it, the ICU executive rejected it. He may have been a big influence but he can't reject a motion on his own.

Neither can the committee, if it's a valid motion.

Here is how it should play out:

    Meeting starts.

Someone proposes a change to the order of the meeting (reports before election) - Chair says yes, happy days. Chair says no - motion to have someone else act as chair. After the chair is removed there is another requests to change the order of the meeting - Chair says yes, happy days.

I will also point out if there is a tie, the current chair gets the deciding vote... so depending on numbers, it might make sense to remove the chair.
Can a proposal to change the order of the agenda be rejected by the chair or would it have to go to a vote?

It should go to a vote (it did last year)
I am going to propose the following

The normal agenda for AGMs should be as follows:
    1) Brief welcome from the chairman
    2) Minutes of previous AGM and (any EGM held since last AGM)
    3) Matters arising (however some of these could be left to later in the meeting)
    4) Report of all members of the Executive Committee having “Executive Function” (Article 7.9)
    5) Election of Executive Committee
    6) Motions
    7) AOB

    Still waiting on officer reports....

We have 2... will we actually see the other officers reports before the agm?

As of 11.42pm the evening before the agm, no, still only two reports online.
Yet they propose to vote before we get the reports?

Maybe they are still busy in the Fuehrer-bunker drafting them and checking they don't contradict each other.

    Transparency at its best

There are some more reports up on the site now.

Surely there has to be a constitutional objection to changing the AGM procedure at such short notice?

Reports from the Chair, Ratings Officer, Development Officer and Secretary have all been added to the article a month ago - which is now hidden off the front page of the ICU website.

    Transparency, eh?

Anyone still on the fence at this AGM should just have had their minds made up for them.

About time. They still have to read them out at the meeting due to their tardiness.

Yes it certainly was. It was the worst in recent memory and a stain on the track record of some executive members..

The Chairperson's report openly accuses Gerry Graham and Ted Jennings of fraud.

We also have the usual stuff about attacks on the poor, defenceless, hard-working, exec (but no mention of what attacks they were, or why they were wrong, and no mention of attacks on other members on other social media platforms)

The Disciplinary Procedure doesn't require "some minor modifications" - it requires a whole new exec position being created to take power away from the Chairman, as the original document had proposed. If it had requires "some minor modifications", it could have been passed on the day like the other two motions which were changed and then adopted.

Claims credit for bringing the UCU closer to re-joining, without mentioning that he then went and ****ed things up singlehandedly.

As a result, the UCU have passed a motion at a recent AGM to re-join the ICU.

They did not rejoin, they voted to affiliate. I think if pat is reelected, their affiliation might be in jeopardy.

Nice to see pat attacking people running fir election in his officer report. Very professional.

    Where is the other reports?

The other reports are all together - you have to search for "AGM" in the other news items though.

    Can you link them?

I can only see the chairperson, secretary, junior officer, development officer, ratings and treasurers reports. I don't see the Fide/womens/pro reports.

    Sorry - that's it.

There is no women's officer - he resigned late last year. There is no PRO report or FIDE rep report

Surely that is fraud in itself?

Who wrote the secretary's report that was on the ICU website?

Who wrote the secretary's report that was on the ICU website?

The first one. The second guy made a speech in addition.
