I've opened the match thread to discuss all about today's game

Any post that threatens to breach the charter will result in the poster banned for at least the weekend. You have all had enough warnings at this stage.

Reminder to keep it civil, attack the post not the poster, no personal abuse towards posters, players or management etc, no illegal streams

THINK BEFORE YOU POST! Does your post contribute positively to the thread? If it won't then don't post

Please be proactive posters and report any post you feel breaches the charter

I hope all the lads and ladies travelling to the game enjoy it

    Odds: Dublin 8/11, Mayo 13/8, Draw 15/2

The GAA have gone gaga altogether with the reversal of Connolly's suspension, and Kevin Keane's in the last round too. A blatant punch on a player is a straight red card and if you want to appeal it and it goes against you you suspension is extended. You have to be accountable for your actions.

Its an absolute joke and an awful example to the thousand's of kids around the country.

Hoping for a cracker today but I have a feeling that Dublin will win comfortably.

Think Dublin will win. Plenty will be said in the run up that it's hard to know what will ultimately happen. Just hope it doesn't become a farce of a game again. Everyone will be jumping on the refs back as quickly as possible.

Dublin's home advantage to sway it.

If a poster gets banned how many times can they appeal the ban?

If its a game of football and the ref is on top of any cynical play then Mayo to win by a couple. Hopefully a free flowing game.

Can someone please confirm if the game is actually being televised on TV and if so on what channel? I heard it was not.

At this stage I think if Mayo win and the Dubs appeal then the result will be overturned. It seems the ref has pretty much no say anymore, even video evidence counts for nothing.

You are banned unless you agree that the GAA were right to allow Connolly win his "appeal"
.......sure it was only a single punch jassus!

Dublin will win it surely but if they win the AI it will be viewed as undeserved.

Will big Mayo Mick be there i wonder.

    Mayo by 4.

Think there is a good chance this could all spill over today.

Going for Mayo by 2 :D

Hopefully all the midweek nonsense doesn't spill over into the game. There has always been an edge to Dublin Mayo, and that's good. Last week, the referee was weak and very poor for both teams and was very much a contributory factor into the ill-tempered nature of the game.

Really hoping for a better spectacle this week and a free flowing game. Mayo and Dublin are two of the best attacking teams in the country and it's sad to see it reduced to what we saw last week.

Mayo to win by a single point.

    Traffic is chronic. Jaysus.

    ---

I think we'll win. I think we have got the rustiness out of the system.

I think that Mayo are too one-dimensional.

    Dublin by 4

Have a feeling will be a more open game than the last day, with Dublin to win by 4-6.

I honestly think this is too close to call. Hoping for a Dublin win.

As a Mayo fan, I am hoping for a clean, exciting game. Obviously, I hope Mayo win, but if they serve up a cracking game without the handbags (let's face it, both teams were as bad as each other last week), I think defeat might be a *little* easier to take.

I think Dublin and Mayo owe it to themselves and their great footballing traditions to give us that. I think both teams would *hate* to lose having resorted to what otherwise might be described as puke football.

Best of luck today googled eyes :)

Agree, the handbags takes away from the game nd everyone just wants a free flowing match.

    Worst of luck today kieth16:P

Jim Gavin claiming Connolly is very mature.

Connolly wearing number 18, but not in the match day programme

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,730 ✭✭✭✭entropi

Connolly with the 18 on his back, he won't start but we'll most likely see him on the field later on. Wouldn't be in the programme as they weren't sure if he'd be playing or not. Dublin to win it by 4 points.

Hopefully we won't have a fiasco like last week, and there'll be an actual football game today.

    Looking forward to this

    Dubs should win this today,

Both have a lot to improve on from the last day,Mayo need a better scoring spread while the Dubs need to cut out the silly fouls in easy scoring areas for O Connor who will bang over the frees all day long.

referee gives advantage to dublin...dublin think he gives a free kick..the players stop and he blows the whistle to throw the ball up

why did he not give the free as there was no advantage
