breast check in galway

    hi ladies ,

    I am 24 went to see my doctor as i had a sore arm pit/ breast ..she told me i have a lump and refered me to galway for a check ..anyone else gone through this ?

    First thing to say is I hope you are not freaking out. The vast majority of lumps that are referred to the Breast Check clinic are nothing to worry about - as in about 90%. Of the ones that do require follow up the majority are benign. Your age is in your favour. Breasts are lumpy and those lumps can come and go!

    My wife went through it in 2013/2014. I heard that 30,000 people went through Galway breast check that year. So don't be surprised that it's busy.

    There is a good chance that you will be sent for an Ultrasound and or a biopsy. Do not read anything into it. They are simply the best diagnostic tool available to them and they always err on the side of caution.

    Best of luck and try not to worry. By the way, the staff are lovely in there.
