Don't know where to put this so maybe ye can help.

I'm looking for armour. Not real armour, obviously, it's for fancy dress. What I'm looking for though is the sort of armour that Boadicea would have looked at and gone 'Yeah, that's some decent armour': the kind of armour one could wear while slaughtering your enemies and burning Londinium to the ground.

Unfortunately the only stuff I can find is prefixed by 'sexy'. Sexy centurions, sexy gladiators... So I upped my budget a bit and looked at LARP armour on Amazon/Ebay (US websites probably wouldn't deliver quick enough). The only stuff is either male, massively expensive, or, again, 'sexy'.

If you know of anywhere I can buy, rent, borrow, or learn to make armour that looks like you could actually wear it into battle and have more than your boobs protected please let me know!

I haven't, but I'll look into that. Maybe they'd be so good as to loan something.

This is completely useless but I saw a pic recently of a male model doing a "if male armour looked like that 'sexy' female armour" pic
    was very funny

... but the societies idea sounds like a good one

All I could find to rent was

The Ohs daughter works in "theatre" and I'll see her tomorrow so I'll ask her if she'd know.

No idea, but if you find someone, please tell me. A lot of the screen armour you see is poly-resin over a wire frame. I have an eye-wateringly expensive Slave Leia replica costume that needs some repair work and I'm having serious trouble finding anyone in Ireland who can do it.

    Kylith

These guys http://duninmara.org/about/ might be able to help.

They've a link about people going to their first event and being able to borrow outfits, so I'd say they are worth checking out

If you are not in Dublin (think you are) they have links to sister societies for the rest of the country

They look deadly, even if they can't help me for this. Might look at joining them anyway.
